I've felt conflicted about still playing Overwatch. It has been my go-to MP game long before MS acquired ABK. So I stopped buying stuff in the game and just play it as a F2P, exactly the customer MS doesn't want I suppose. I hope BF6 can pull me away from the game in October.

I continue to play the Microsoft games I already own (and I still have a year left on my Game Pass) because I don't think it makes any difference, but I personally won't give this corporation another penny.

The rage in that mattress thread is great because, as one poster who seems to be familiar with the company mentioned, this shit has already existed but the guy is just saying "AI" because it's a buzzword and is actually talking about a standard prediction model that will just use "AI" to check the data against it. They're so ignorant they're getting violently angry at buzzwords until they're declaring jihad on anything that exists. Standard modeling for over a century is picking variables and running a regression then backfilling the values to adjust the prediction curve to match, all "AI" does is run billions of these on massive datasets to eek out ever so slightly better prediction values without needing to inherently know the variables. (The "AI" will automatically find or dismiss each piece of data based on its predictive value.) But you have "experts", including proud socialists (which is an infinite modeling task), in that thread attacking the idea that this modeling can ever have any value for anything people might want to do. (The overenthusiastic claims about AI are the same claims that were made in the 1910s about statistical modeling, in the 1950's about computer modeling, etc.)

But as always, they think them sleeping is super valuable information tons of people want:
