I was going through it to report all of the posts that were.  It's a lot of 'prominent' everyday users too, that absolutely know what they are doing.

Well I reported a bunch of posts. Maybe that will do something idk. I admit I haven''t been reporting as much lately because so many posts that i did report didn't get any response, so it felt like a waste of time like 75% of the time unless the posts were very obviously shitty.

So, this thread has generated a ton of reports. We're gonna temp lock it, go through them, and re-open when we're done.

I don't have the post handy, but I swear B-Dubs is on record saying discussing the sales of the game shouldn't be banned in an explicitly sales-related thread, and most of the bans seem to be people just kind of marveling over its success and not being mad enough about it. But now we've got mods on the forum itself egging posters on to demand bans  and sanctioning brigading threads for mentioning things that they don't like, even if they're not against the rules exactly. This is definitely not going to increase tension and anger everywhere and make moderation even more onerous.

This post needs to be considered through the knowledge Kyuuji outlines of this being a stealth provoke. You see him as discussing how the game is doing in terms of sales, but it's really as AliceAmber said a "backdoor" to not "be respectful of the other communities on the forum" which gave the enlightened (likely "LGBT+") staff "a side eye" and they actioned to "help with the overall health of the forum."

No, it's all actions, I can't find the three member claim but you can see it in the FAQ:

We also receive dozens of emails and private messages, and manually approve dozens of new registrations each day. This work is endless, stressful, and often thankless. Many staff members put in countless hours each week towards maintaining the forum; this is a responsibility they take on because they care deeply about the community and want it to be the best that it can be.

It is important to note that we take a team approach to moderation, and no single moderator will ever be solely responsible for a given decision. All moderator actions are automatically logged and visible to the rest of the team; it is therefore impossible for an individual member of staff to go rogue. Every action is discussed as a team and signed off on by multiple staff before it is carried out. The diversity of our team is a strength -- we always seek insight on any given issue from the staff members who know the most about it.

And the Mod Captains signed off on all these bans:

Certain administrators (designated as "Mod Captains" on the roster) are specifically in charge of managing the moderation team. The moderator is on a complete power trip. It's such a shame because it's a good gaming forum bit it's run by a bunch of nut jobs. I've just been banned for two months for saying how impressive Harry potter's sales were!

There's not a lot about the shit moderation that surprises me anymore, but this was the guy the banned for his single post before Melody lost her shit.

That response is just unbalanced and I'd be curious to know who did it--his initial ban message doesn't even mention a history of behavior, just the drive-by dismissing of concerns that didn't exist yet. Less moderation, more religious zealotry.
