You're tasked with making a sequel to ResetEra. There isn't a huge backlash like there was with GAF > Era, but instead, notable members make it known they are unhappy with the status quo and so, in dribs-and-drabs, new (read: Era) members start signing up to this NewResetEra site over a period of weeks and months.

I think we are all fairly on the same page with what issues the site currently has; idiotic moderation, fealty to 'famous' members, inconsistent moderating, extremely poor/non-existent communication with the wider community, and then site-wide decisions being made by cliques. Then on top of that, you have users like Echoes/Fat etc. who put on 'trans' labels in order to be able to deflect from any criticisms and generally act like lairy creeps.

What rules do you put in place to deal with that? You're not transphobic, but you don't want to appease the infantilised weirdos who are acting as trans. What do?

So this goofy idea comes from a conversation on the phone I had with a family member today, I'm currently playing the two Resident Evil Revelations games and told them I was in the middle of Resident Evil and they asked if I meant Citizen Evil and if it starred Orson Welles.

I laughed and said no, but it gave me the idea, what if Resident Evil started out as a film from the 1960s or a film series from then. One of the pioneers of the modern Zombie film like The Last Man of Earth (the first adaptation of I Am Legend starring Vincent Price), Night of the Living Dead (Neither of which actually call their "Zombies" that since I Am Legend's creatures were meant to be scientific versions of Vampires and the Zombies in NOTLD were called Ghouls; also both are in the Public Domain, go watch them their good films!) and The Plague of the Zombies (technically Voodoo Zombies but they act a lot like like the modern Zombie)?

How would say Resident Evil 1 be different if it was filmed with the sensibilities of that time, where the Hays Code was losing a lot of it's power, in part because of the rise in access of International films?

Who'd play the cast like Chris, Jill, Barry, Wesker and Rebecca? In my head, Albert Wesker would be played by Leslie Nelson (remember he was a serious actor who was known to play cold villains before he became known as comedy actor in the late 70s), he has the right vibe to him if that makes sense?

What would something like the Tyrant look like with the effects of the time (the first thing that pops into my brain is the vegetable version of the the Thing from The Thing from another World)? Would they even include stuff like the Cerberus (Zombie dogs), the Hunters, the giant Spider (speaking of, it's massively sad to me the Remakes of 2 & 3 got rid of them, I like Spiders)? How would Cold War politics affect the plot? I'd sadly assume Chris would be the main star over Jill.

I would say that's misleading as the tracker doesn't weight any of it, I totally wouldn't count the EO's that are reversing Genocide Biden's but the tracker does and accounts for most of the figure.

Project 2025 in the propaganda was treated as this unique danger not simply Republicans enacting what Republicans always do. The stuff that was fearmongered about was stuff sitting at either "not started" or was never in it to begin with. Feels like that's the standard we should apply, not whether a GOP administration is reversing the recent Democratic one back to 2020 or doing things like enforcing Title IX.

That said, if Vance becomes President any time before the end of summer 2026, he's limited to only one more term. I have to imagine that's a better scenario than if he could get two more.
