Random Talk
Dinner dates as a 1st date are risky. Your eating habits can cause icks, they might not like what's on the menu, the service can be lacking or they show up as a nervous wreck with gut issues. You both feel obligated to stay until at least the main course even if there is an immediate turn off.

It’s a classic case of women think they want something but most actually didn't like it.

C(m)ocktail dates at the beachclub work well. if they want something to eat anyway there is plenty to order and it’s overall more fun and feels less like a job interview or business meeting. Even if we didn't spark we both still had a good time.

If it's a guy saying it it's misogyny (because they think women can't take care of themselves) and if it's a woman saying it who cares.

For me it has been an interesting journey so far. I'll just keep grinding.

I have this strange feeling that I will succeed soon but it won't be through the dating app.
And usually those kind of predictions pan out.

I like Illusive Man Capital a lot.

Not a super shady business just shady enough as a go between.
I also thought about maybe just shortening it to Illusive Capital

Very good option AMG styling and all. It drives very zen though, not very sporty. But you can punch it and I didn't really have the opportunity to take it over 80 km/h.
I got used to driving automatic pretty quickly, almost like a video game. Also a head turner in a good way.

1 previous owner, he loved this car but he needed something with a higher frame for his back problems.

Cons
- This is no car to just throw around though, I can't dump this one on the sidewalk of an office building like I can with the lancer.
- A bit older than I would like (2017) but certainly a 'class' above what I can buy for ~15k 2020 and up
- Price: they currently quoted me 18k, I want to get it down to 16k or 17k

What do we think about the Mercedes fellas. I'm leaning towards a yes and an offer of 16k or 15.5k down from 19k.
The asking price is too high but it's a nice car that I'm interested in at the right price.

The guy mentioned rust on the brakes which means it has been sitting there for a while. I also took some cobwebs from the mirrors. Overall it has been sitting there for 3 - 4 months.

I don't think this an easy car to sell for them. Bright red, most people want white/black cars and grey is the Mercedes color.
Families won't go for the AMG styling, it's just more stuff kids can break. And while it looks like a sports car it doesn't really drive like one. It's mostly built for safety and comfort kind of boring in that sense.

Overall the price is the biggest downside. 20% cheaper it's way more interesting.

This car, I would say an 8/10 or 9/10. One of the best options I've found so far.

It ticks a lot of boxes. And I'm also thinking about how high the sporty driving is on the priority list compared to other things.
Maybe a more comfortable car is a nice change of pace. The driving mode on the console was also set to comfort and not sport but I had no idea that could be changed.
My Lancer doesn't have all those fancy gizmos.

The short list is currently

Opel Corsa GS Line - 19.5k
100hp, duotone red/black, 2021

Spoiler:  (click to show)

Too expensive for an Opel. Somewhat weak engine. Nice interior though. 7.5/10

i30 N-Line - 16.5k
140hp, LED, 18" rims, red, 2019

Spoiler:  (click to show)

(more or less the same car as the Mercedes but not as fast from 0 - 100, N-Line detailing not as nice as AMG detailing and this one isn't nearby) 8/10

Mazda 3 2.0 SkyActiveX Comfort Sedan - 20k
180hp, 2020

Spoiler:  (click to show)

Mixed on the exterior of this particular Mazda model, very nice overall 8/10

VW Golf, Honda Civic, Lexus CT 200h, Lexus IS and Audi A1 too.
The Lexus aren't in a great state and Honda is quite rare in NL, which will make maintenance expensive. Also boring colors on these.

Anyway the guy is gonna call me tommorow. Let's see if he accepts an offer of 16k.
I might just keep the Lancer and go with 2 cars or rent it out to some co-workers who want to share a car.

Unless the guy goes for 14k with the Lancer as a trade in. But I doubt he'll go that low.
I know a couple of places that will offer me 2k - 3k for the Lancer. They can sell it for 5k or 6k.

That's kind of the issue in general with the Dutch car market. In most cases the cars have the weakest possible engine config.
I'm surprised this wasn't a 160 but actually the 180 automatic.

Audi A3's but all the 1.0 TFSI variants. Hyundai i30s with the 1.0 T-GDI engine.

Watched some car reviews, the sentiment is overall the same. Great looks, good driving, quality interior, fantastic seats, AMG options like the sports suspension and 18" rims which this model has, lots of features, some caveats like the trunk that I don't really care about. Much better fuel economy than the Lancer. Most people that own it, love it even more so with the AMG extras. BMW Series 1 better in some ways worse in others but ~5k more expensive, higher road taxes too.

In general I'm having a first world problem. Never thought when I bought the Lancer that I would 1 day consider switching to a Mercedes with AMG styling. Sure there's a Hyundai i30 n2 for sale for 28k with 275hp but that's the bracket for the next round.

Got a new quote, 18.5k without a trade in.
I'll have to think about if I'll send him my counter offer or look elsewhere for a different car.
Might take a few different ones for a spin this weekend to see how they drive and feel.

As for the ladies. I've read up a lot on dating, seduction and GAME to make progress in dating faster in the future.
Currently running a GAME experiment with 3 chats. And well this shit works so far, it's like these 3 women with entirely different backgrounds are wired the same.

The goal is to get one of them to agree to a wine date at my place because the weather is shit. I'm getting to a point where I can ask all 3 if they prefer red or white and then close the trap by asking if they are open to open a bottle on [day] [time].

With one I opened with a fat shaming joke, which she greatly enjoyed. The second had a terrible opener: "What is something you'll never say 'no' to" to which I replied: "Geting out of bed early". So at 7AM she started messaging asking if I was an early bird but of course I was still asleep and then finally at 5PM I was like: "Man this day has flown by if you could wake up anywhere in the world tommorow where it would be?" and she was like: "Uuuhhh are you just going to ignore my question?" but surely before bed she texted: "I hope to wake up on the Maldives tommorow".

The third one I'm less sure about. She asked: "There is a penguin in your freezer what do you do?" so I said: "What's my favorite animal doing in my freezer how did you know are you stalking me Wink" which won out to: "I hope he doesn't eat the dead bodies in there" and that would've been better.

The ratio of their texts to mine is now 3:1 instead of 1:1.

My occupation on the profile is changed from AI agency COO to "Professional cocktail taster".

I also have a better sense of what went 'wrong' on my previous dates and it was always the shit tests. Some I didn't realize were shit tests. Especially the one where they ask what you want in a relationship. I always noticed a mood change after that even though I gave a decent answer. Now I know what to answer to pass that one, which is either: "Wait? You think I want a relationship with you?" or something entirely stupid: "You want to see my goldfish Netflix and chill?" the last option is to say nothing, kiss them on the forehead and change topics.

My desktop speakers I've had for 16 years are dying. What a workhorse. Multiple PC builds, monitors, desks, rooms, etc. Over the years stuff has been moved and upgrade and replaced. It's been the one constant.

Either I try to repair them or incinerate them and pour the ashes out at whatever the compusa I probably bought them from now is.
