IIRC, the EN manager "suggest" that they shouldn't stream that game, which was what Gura said back when it came out and people asked her.

So Cover probably know, but it's a sponsor and the brand is basically god in JP, next to Disney stuff.

So basically they don't care if it gets their JP talent some trouble internationally. I would assume they at least warned the talent that are streaming that they might get some pushback?

Speaking of ban records, I got a question about that. Let’s say I’m a model citizen for the next I dunno 12 months and somehow avoid droppin my hat. Does that get you like a point off your record? Does it get taken into account for the next ban or do the ban lengths have a linear upward kinda path where there’s not much you can do?

IIRC the context of each ban plays a big part in how future bans will be implemented (i.e. if you've already been banned once for discriminatory language, staff will be less gracious if you ever do it again). This does seem like something you could try to submit a ticket for if you want a more specific answer, though.

But just showing actual remorse and changed behavior will probably weight heavier than time passed, I'd wager.

If you mean the Tldr line, that was a joke. My point was about how getting clarification on how the ban battlepass progression system works here would benefit A LOT of folks — it would go a long way in addressing the consistency issue. There’s people here that been capped 10+ times and still around… when you see that all you think is why are they playing favorites? And more importantly, what does it take to get on that A-list? Because sign me tf up. I’ve been posting way less the past few months, on straight eggshells, because I’m not sure if the next time I get clipped sends my ass home or not. How is that healthy?

Oh I was mostly just saying that because staff has made it pretty clear that any ban inquiries, for yourself or others, should be made through the ticket system. And I think people who have "survived" several bans over the years without a perm at this point aren't given VIP treatment, just that maybe their ban/warning history don't warrant a permaban due to being made up of mostly less severe infractions? Just guessing since I have no idea who you're thinking about here.

And no worries haha I get it. I myself have definitely changed how carefully I express myself over time.

While true, we also do take into account things like time between bans and post count.

So, let's say, for example, that you do some console warring or act like a dick for about 3 months and you get up to a 1 week ban as a result. That's roughly 4 actions against you escalating normally, depending on severity it might be less than 4. If you then stop doing that entirely and are a model poster for the next year but slip up at one point and fall back into your bad habit, depending on how bad the post is, we probably won't escalate on the prior infraction and will just ditto the previous ban duration. So instead of getting a two week ban, as per normal escalation, we'll just give you another one week ban as a reminder not to do that again.

Of course, that assumes you are posting normally. If you just leave the forum for that year instead of posting regularly, we'll just act as if you never took that break because we never saw a change in behavior. The change in behavior being the key that makes this work.

Basically, we do recognize that people change and unless it's a situation where a much older action against you is exactly the same sort of infraction as the post you just made, it might not count toward how we moderate your account. For example, if you only really pop up to be a dick to a poster you don't like and don't really post otherwise, I wouldn't expect us to give you much grace.

We'll also look at post count to a degree, like, for example, if your account has been actioned 11 times. I think everyone can agree that there is probably a difference between someone who has roughly 1,000 posts and 11 actions against them and someone who has 10,000 posts and 11 actions against them. This, of course, ignores severity of infractions. In this example, we're talking about two platform warriors with equivalent infraction histories.

In this way, we'll also consider how quickly infractions get racked up. We can obviously see a difference between someone who has been actioned 11 times in ten years versus someone who has been actioned 11 times in a single year. The one who has racked those infractions up over a decade averages an infraction a year, the yearly tap on the shoulder, whereas the guy who has gotten actioned 11 times in a year is probably running around making life miserable for everyone they encounter.

Like I said, we get that people change. We get that someone might have a bad year. We get that sometimes people get heated and lose their cool at times. We get all that and have tried to build an understanding of that into the system and procedures we use.

You might want to look up the reconstruction era of US history. It'll also highlight why comments such as "both sides just need to stop escalating things" you've made are incredibly dense to say the least.

I'm not saying both sides are escalating things. This is what you understood from what I said. I'm not sure if this is within this thread, but I did say in the past that all the responsibility for change always falls within the Left which is completely stupid. We always complain about how the Left needs to change and adjust but in reality, what needs to change and adjust is the Right. It is the Right's leadership that is problematic. With that being said, it doesn't mean the Left is perfect. It has its fair share of issues; everything that Palestine has exposed. That's my point. With that being said, both sides need to deeply examine their approach to things if they don't want their society to implode.

What's the use of a forum if I can't express my opinion? Report the troll? How about we discuss things? Feel free to strongly disagree, I'm not asking you to. I do find it particularly interesting to block someone who has a different opinion as yours, perhaps communication is the main issue American face.
