I don't understand this mentality at all.  Do they think the brakes have already come off?  That nazis and fascists are at their maximum amount of violence right now?      I don't think these people are going to want to live in a country where political violence is much more normal than it is now. It's like they can only think 5 minutes ahead.

These people's perception of history, that they've never studied, is that Weimar Germany was completely like the current US and then one day suddenly went crazy for no clear reason. They don't know there were years of literal combat between well established paramilitaries with thousands of deaths in a country that had never been a liberal democracy before and had close to a million young World War I veterans with nothing to do because they couldn't get jobs.

It's just no understanding of the far-right mentality.  Their politics is framed in existential struggle and under constant siege by multiple aligned enemies threatening their culture and their lineage.  Like they literally think they're being made to go extinct from outside, malicious forces that they think the left represents.   From their perspective, every policy debate reads like a fight for survival against being pushed toward extinction.

You'd think they'd recognize their own mentality.

I just know that Charlie Kirk was mocked at South Park but he spin it as a victory (because Cartman is the hero of South Park), so I guess the dude was pretty easy to hate.

But political violence is always depressing and should be a no-no.

To them fascists are basically the inverse of them, people who say stuff they disagree with. So the idea of fascists being the legitimate threat they all scream about just isn't in play because you don't fear people like themselves for any reason. It also allows them to divorce the historical specific nature of fascism and pretend that fascism is this unique special strain throughout all of human history from the time we fell from Eden and that makes totalitarians of other stripes okay, when the totalitarian tendency is the dangerous thing not the form it manifests as.

And violence becomes another form of discourse because they define discourse as violence, again like I said earlier they've eliminated the definitions so now everything is fascist violence so nothing is to where they ultimately don't fear fascism or violence because it's all just another form of discourse. Someone shoots Charlie Kirk, some MAGA thugs lynch a gay black man in Chicago, the state throws people in camps, I post Nepenthe's house, people question Echos lesianism, it's all the same thing. Which is why it's all so essential you fight fascism by donating to my GTX5090 fund.

Why is it always when something happens to a person who is helping to vote in people that want to kill minorities or members of the LGBTQ community that we get the floodgates of "now...now, violence doesn't solve anything and you should be ashamed of this".
