Can we stop with the "don't post this stuff on public social media accounts"? I respect the developer for actually having conviction in her beliefs and was willing to sacrifice her job to say them. The actual post they made isn’t all that bad tbh however the era types gotta understand that these companies will usually have employee guidelines about not bringing shit to the door of the company you work for, the best policy no matter how much you care about political things is simply not fucking post it on your timeline for people to grass you in to your employers and put yourself in the position of more than likely losing FB your job, like come on it’s 2025 that’s not a new thing, stop being so fucking idiotic.

Just like most companies will have a travel policy for helping employees understand the expectations and responsibilities when people travel for work, most companies will have a social media policy for when people want to use social media. 

If you break either policy, expect some sort of ramifications. These are usually articulated in the policy. 

If you're too stupid to read the policy, not much can be done to help you.

Given that he didn't vote in the most recent election and there's no political donations tied to him, I have a feeling this will end up being a situation where the shooter has a blend of inscrutable politics all intensified by the online communities he was exposed to for years. He may have been in a conservative/MAGA household, but they clearly let him isolate himself to stew in complex rhetoric that doesn't really fall in one place or another, just fringe online communities that are not being policed or moderated. There's pictures of his family just dismissing his weird Halloween costume ideas.

The fact that his household was conservative completely explains why they made no effort to pull him out of this or even engage with him on any level. They just ignored it. And then you have his dad going to a youth pastor about it rather than law enforcement, because the immediate urge is to cover up situations like this in those households.
