I just recently played through P5R and P5 Strikers back to back and after that journey was done I went over to era to see what was said about it, see if anyone mirrored any of my thoughts on the characters.

Literally all anyone could talk about is two blink and you'll miss it goofs where two out-of-costume drag queens tease Ryuji, and a couple of moments when Ryuji is caught staring at Ann's chest. 

An almost 200 hour game with themes of standing up to exploitation of the vulnerable, antagonists major and minor who exploit women, an extremely sympathetic view of social anxiety, literally countless examples of lampshading how embarrassing awkward guys are around women, a full blown minor trans character that's not a joke and treated fairly, and a major boss that is literally the physical embodiment of how the pressure a woman's experiences trying to succeed in a male dominated field can twist them inside ignored wholly and entirely over that. 

It's actually insanity that anyone could even come close to saying that P5 has content that panders to "incel chuds". Era's media literacy is... fuck, I don't know, what's a word worse than "abysmal"

Protecting trans people is a litmus test for Democratic politicians which is contingent on how serious they are in the political space. If you waver even a little bit on the principle of protecting and building trans rights, that shows you have no spine and will flip-flop whenever it's politically expedient to you at the moment. Newsom always read to me as an opportunist who will do anything to get a perceived boost in the 2028 race. He's not a serious politician.

Like if you'd believe RE, Cyberpunk 2077 is somehow a AAA anti-trans manifesto, meanwhile the actual game lets you create a trans character and features trans side characters, played by trans-voice actors and hasn't a single bad thing to say about trans people in its narrative.
But once that narrative has grown big enough on Resetera, no one is even allowed to argue against it anymore. If you say that those are just some very small scenes in Persona 5 you'll get banned for "dismissing concerns". So anyone who disagrees gets either banned or learns to just stay quiet, which in turn gives the couple of crazies even more room to spread the narrative unopposed.

A lot of the problems these people face in life come down to feeling unattractive.

Their issues with friendships and relationships often seem to boil down to 'I don't exert enough gravity over this other person simply by my very presence and they are aggravated by my being'.

Rather than look at it honestly and strategically and assess what it is about them that is unattractive, they latch onto wild solutions.
