I told y'all these people are scared because not only did a white Christian conservative man "just like them" get popped, but it was in such a morbidly ironic, almost Hollywood fashion that the expectations of shared outrage didn't come rolling in. They were faced- for probably the first time in their lives- with the idea that not only could they themselves potentially be merked for their shitty beliefs, but that society would laugh or, worse yet, just not care at all.

They saw themselves in that moment as minoritized, as given the same due consideration with which they have always treated ethnic and queer minorities: expendable.
