The people they're trying to appease were NEVER gonna buy this game in the first place. They were going in on Erika before the Kirk murder.

If I'm being really charitable, I can maybe understand taking an employee aside and discussing how you don't want team members meme-ing on very fast moving current events, particularly those that involve an assassination that has emotions heightened on all sides. I get it. I don't agree - the 'joke' was incredibly INCREDIBLY mild - but I get it.

But an instant firing, with a follow up of 'we simply won't stand for this, you cannot reference current events, and you cannot speak ill of fascists' is just wild to me.

This surely just needed a quiet work, and a reminder of social media policy. How is this worth firing a 10 year vet over, with the idea that this is not going to blow up.

It's really kind of astounding how spineless everyone is these days. He could have said "if you post on social media while acknowledging you work here than you represent us and it's company policy to not post political commentary"still pathetic but *less* spineless. The owner of the company might have even been better off simply keeping his trap shut because now he, his game, his entire studio will just be rightly painted as pathetic cowards.
