It was literally on the first page of that thread, the 29th post. I clicked the thread, swiped down a few times and saw my bright purple highlight of a post. You're digging and ban-baiting for something that's just not there. 

It also doesn't justify not banning for those factors. One of the most common studies cited is the one about marathon runners, how there wasn't any advantages in that use case. People have cited that study so many times and then you click it and actually read it and see they're only talking about long-distance running and it's like what are we doing here? Sports are all over the place. 

And that's the core of the issue — there aren't enough studies done on this to make blanket statements. You said in that thread there's advantages and disadvantages, which I'm gonna assume you were tryin to say it varies by sport, which is literally the most reasonable take ever. There's so many sports out there that each require specific physical traits that it's impossible to just make blanket statements on this.

I seen this said a lot, how there's never been a trans Olympic medalist so what's the problem? You got a point. But you also have to understand that the % of the population that are Olympic level athletes are like… .0001% (or whatever; it's extremely small), and then you take 2 or 3% of that .0001% of potential Olympic athletes who might be trans — the odds of a trans woman medal'ing in our lifetime is incredibly slim. So yeah you're right, folks shouldn't be bitching about that, but that's not the point.

So, in the vain of gacha games like this - little rant incoming, I apologize in advance. 😞

Two weeks ago I started playing Love and Deepsace, what is a first for me regarding every genre the game contains. Ever since the first day I'm in absolute awe; it's far better than I ever imagined it and better than it has any right to be. I'm super obsessed with it already and can't stop talking about it (I'm sorry), and I haven't even unlocked Sylus yet!
It's like I uncovered my second spring. And I really have to wonder - do straight male gamers feel like this all the time?

It caught my eye with their booth at Gamescom - and the fucking audacity of my male companions starting the "imagine the outcry if they do that booth with female chars" talk, because you were meant to be able to *huge shock* see the mens bare chest.
I don't need to imagine it at all, cause it's happening all the time and in fact has been for countless years!
We come from a time, where every booth at Gamescom had its "Convention Babes", good looking models in skimpy outfits, hired to linger around. And every fucking website had a "Best of" photo gallery of them. I'm so fucking glad it stopped to be a thing in recent years.
And suddenly there is this booth, where you can approach stuff and could ask to get hygiene products, if needed - it feels like a new time line!

As I mentioned, it's a first for me in many ways and I know the genre has been around much longer. Surley other games did it first, do it better or whatever and it's mostly on me for being a late bloomer by chance. But either way, for me it's the first time I feel taken seriously as a female gamer as a whole.
It's not just "pink loving Candy Crush gamer", let's give them some cozy farming game and call it a day. Yes, I do love me some cute cats and I do like to decorate stuff. But women also like to play action games and whatnot and yes, we also like to be horny on main. (And man is it nice, it's not just a male power fantasy also appealing to women by chance.)
And to me, LaD combines all this, catering to women while taking them seriously, giving all the different aspects games can have. There is the cute part, there is the horny part, there is also the super decent combat. (What by no means doesn't mean it's perfect and doesn't have any problems/shortocmings/whatsoever.)

Anyway, I love my buddy, he's a super decent guy and usually on the progressive side of things.
But fuck them. Fuck them to the moon and back!

I love a good mall personally. I've never been a homebody type, so I've enjoyed the pseudo third spaces that malls provided during my youth.

One thing I do notice when I see all these dead mall videos on YT. The malls were pretty garbage. Boring architecture, low ceiling; just not interesting visually interesting. Why would anyone go there?

When I visit a very nice mall, I want to stay there, eat there, catch a movie, and shop.

But these malls on life support? They mostly suck.

All of this fervor around Silksong's release date seems to speak to much deeper economic issues with the act of trying to make a game for profit.

The combination of the exponential increase in aspiring developers year over year due to tools that lower the barrier for entry and sustained public interest, the relatively long production times, the costs of either gaining the specialized knowledge to make a good game or hiring people with that knowledge (seriously, where the fuck do you get the money from as an indie to get a team?) the overhead and licensing fees, etc. Like, I would imagine that most games that are attempted don't even see development into a deliverable product, and even then most of the ones that do outright fail to make back enough revenue to justify the endeavor, if they make anything at all.

On top of this, game development exists within a wider socioeconomic framework where you need to have a constant stream of income to, you know, live. Not only do you need this, but you need to contend with the fact that the cost of those necessities is out of control from larger political and class forces, necessitating either excessively high initial startup costs most people can't reasonably afford (so you start seeing a flood of content in certain genres, in turn increasing competition) or a way to work on something for 7-15 years by yourself while trying to survive and just praying it works out which, you know, not a great plan.

Social benefits are being stripped. Rights are being stripped. Our environment and infrastructure are being fucked over. All of this and more is affecting not just devs' opportunities for success but the gaming audience's ability to spend time on the hobby at all as wallets get squeezed, work hours get longer, and time becomes and even more precious commodity. Hell, how much potential play time is taken up by doomscrolling alone? TikTok's existence alone probably has an effect on the potential time that exists to be captured by any one game, in turn increasing competition even more.

Like I dunno guys. Seems to me that at the root of this all is the contradiction between too many people wanting to delve into what is ultimately an expensive-ass art form while living within an even more expensive-ass and precarious world, where fundamentally there is not enough guaranteed revenue for it to be worth most people even trying. We've seen it for years and years now. Studios big and small are closing or getting consolidated left and right. It's a bloodbath.

Talking about Team Cherry's release date tactics is surface level. This industry, at the moment, just doesn't feel sustainable for most people under current conditions. And I'm not sure where you begin to fix that beyond fixing the underlying economic issues first.

The fact that 4 people can work on a video game for 7 years, sell it for $20, and still make out like bandits means...the industry isn't sustainable.  Uh ok.  And what's with the way she writes?  She can't convey a simple point without a bunch of unnecessary words.   Does she think it makes her a good writer if she avoids articulating a point in the simplest way possible?
