I'll repeat what I've said elsewhere, I really feel if Capcom marketed right and outside of the usual FGC crowd and avoided objectification, a Darkstalkers game would be a big with Gen Z and Alpha women. I feel like SF6 did that intentionally or unintentionally with Marisa and Kimberly, but I really feel a Darkstalkers that catered to women, marketed towards women and the right amount of horror, camp, quirkiness and of course diversity and LGBTQ+ would do well and carve its own niche. Plus having more social SIM elements, a dating SIM and tons of funny interactions would be amazing... Okay who am I kidding, I want that!!!

This feels like going off topic a bit as it's not confirmed, and I don't live in California, but no one I respect has ever had much nice to say about Newsom, and I for sure know he has been authoritarian and inhuman towards unhoused people his entire tenure and within the past few months has been one of the only dem governors to go fairly aggressively transphobic - many other dem governors have been pretty limp or hand-wave about the hate but Newsom has gone on right ring podcasts and agreed with right wing talking points about trans people.

He's basically the opposite of Mamdami in New York - sprinting to the right to try and appeal to MAGA, offering no solutions to help people with real problems, expanding police power endlessly, and generally supported by the same old guard democrats that seem to think the rise of fascism is mostly OK actually.
