Leisure time is for the capitalist pigs. A good commie works 25 hours a day producing useless shit for the party.

Did no one notice that each year had a hot period, a cold period, and transitional ones where things are born and die until they were colonised?

But what do I know, I've only read about history of the world not labeled everything above nomadic hunter/gather tribes as "colonization" or "white" like the experts.

It basically sounds like a strange mix of "anything that matters in the modern world was created by the west" and the "noble savage" trope. Like honestly it seems kinda offensive.

I for one already love that one game where you play as black people stealing shit that they couldn't be arsed to preserve themselves.

Quote:Gaza flotilla leadership turns on itself over ‘woke’ agenda

Internal conflicts have hit the board of directors of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), a multinational convoy of several dozen vessels aiming to breach Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza.

Alleged “wokeness”, political activism and in particular LGBTQ activism has led to serious discontent.

Le Courrier de l’Atlas, a French-language monthly magazine and online outlet covering Maghreb affairs, reported on September 16 that local GSF co-ordinator Khaled Boujemâa announced his resignation in protest at the presence of LGBTQ activists in the flotilla, including Saif Ayadi, who identifies as a “queer activist”.

“We were lied to about the identity of some participants in the vanguard of the flotilla, I accuse the organisers of having hidden this aspect from us,” he complained in two video streams on social media.

Other figures, including activist Mariem Meftah and presenter Samir Elwafi, condemned what they saw as an attempt to impose a cultural progressive agenda unrelated to the Palestinian cause, describing it as a “red line crossed” and an attack on “societal values”.

Brussels Signal reached out to the GSF but had not received a reply at the time of writing.

On September 15 Facebook, Meftah wrote that being gay was a private matter, no one else’s business and that no one should be discriminated or targeted for it.
But she stressed that such activism is viewed as incompatible with Islamic beliefs and warned against using “the sacred cause of Al-Aqsa” to advance unrelated agendas.

(...)

Also on Facebook the same day, Elwafi wrote: “Palestine is first and foremost the cause of Muslims, and it cannot be separated from its spiritual and religious dimension — with Jerusalem at the heart of its symbols and destiny.

“So why involve in it dubious activists serving other agendas that do not concern us and have nothing to do with Gaza, such as homosexuality!?

“Why do we hear the voices of these discredited and rejected figures in a flotilla meant to represent our societies and their solidarity with Gaza!? Why divide people over the very cause that unites them!?

“Why all these financial, moral, ideological, and security suspicions surrounding a flotilla that is supposed to embody Arab sentiment and the conscience of humanity!?

“What do you expect an Arab Muslim to think when he hears the slogans of this ‘queer’ movement within a flotilla launched in the name of his most sacred and central cause, only to see it degraded in this way!?”

Take it with a grain of salt as I can't find any mainstream media reporting it. The facebook livestream should be relatively easy to fact check though, if you speak the language that is.

Quote:Much about what Klein offers here is objectionable: the appeal to debate as “persuasion,” which confuses the mere appearance of giving and responding to reasons with the substance of good-faith rational inquiry; the silence about the fact that the watchlist Kirk spearheaded generated death threats, along with other evidence that would complicate the narrative that Kirk did politics the “right way”; the breathtaking carelessness or outright dishonesty in deflecting objections to the specific accuracy of this portrayal of Kirk with claims about the general appropriateness of political violence.

If you think wholeness and cancel culture is bad you're a bigot (or a sophisticated crypto bigot)
Quote:The norms of political correctness thus set basic ground rules for social life—at least, in politically mixed company. These norms lorded over a motley moral crew. The vocal opponents of PC culture included out-and-out bigots, of course, but also slightly more sophisticated ones who exploited the plausible deniability of abstraction in their appeals for the right to express—and the genuine or performed credulousness of helpful partners like Klein—to help clear social space for the overt stuff.
And then there's this...
Quote:The point is that the possibility of overreach is a price worth paying exactly because shame serves as a robustly liberal alternative to the political violence that Klein and company rightly abhor. Most of the alternatives involve either subjugation, combat, or both. Put another way: designating disrespect and denigration as beyond the pale, as grounds for exclusion from polite company, is “turning the temperature down.” Klein and others are helping to turn it up.

A right-wing man was shot and killed by a left-wing crackpot, after the left whipped its followers into a frenzy about impending, fascism (which the author adds to) and Kirk being "full of hate", a shooting many on the left outright celebrated and gravedsnced, and you're telling me milquetoast Ezra Klein is the one turning the temperature up?

Notice that only ever do bigots, and their useful idiots, have agency. The "norms" are never constructed and enforced in a way that makes increasingly more and more options "cleared from the social space" or you're one of those bigots seeking to undermine the "basic ground rules for social life."

There's basic human decency and then there's whatever anyone who is not me wants.

Quote:Quebec to ban gender-inclusive French writing in government communication

Jean-François Roberge, the minister responsible for French in Quebec, has decided to put an end to gender-inclusive writing in government communications intended for the public.

"From what we saw, there was a lot of confusion," he told reporters on Wednesday morning.

"In the absence of rules, everyone, acting in good faith and with good intentions, starts using words that pose significant problems for the French language. We are unable to conjugate things."

Ministries, governmental organizations and municipalities will have to refrain from using words such as iel (the French equivalent of they in English), toustes, celleux, mix or froeur. These words are gender-neutral or inclusive alternatives to French pronouns, titles and terms.

Abbreviated doublets, which consist of inclusive spellings of a word in order to avoid using only the masculine form, like les étudiante.es (the students), les agent•e•s (the agents) or l'administrateur/trice (the administrator) will also be banned.

Inclusive writing is often used to include all gender identities and to avoid defaulting to masculine forms.
The government said these changes to the linguistic policy are being made in accordance with recommendations from the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF).
Roberge said these changes will bring some "uniformity" and "coherence" to government communications as he'd been noticing an increase in the use of those words.
"There is a kind of inconsistency because, depending on the organization or official, it's as if everyone had their own grammar. It doesn't make sense," said Roberge.
But still, he insisted he didn't want people who use pronouns like iel (they in English) to feel excluded.
"People are gender-fluid. They are who they are, they are who they want to be. And this won't change," he said.
"I don't want to exclude anybody. We are open-minded, we want people to be happy."
Roberge added that the education and health-care systems will also be subject to these rules at the second stage of these linguistic changes.

Rejoice

If you thought inclusive grammar looked dumb in English, it's nothing compared to French.

You'd end up with words like "himer", "broster", "misster"

They still do. None have apologized even though there have been death threats and incitement.

It was a white shooter, not the left, who killed a white man.

Now they are trying to gaslight us and asking Kimmel to apologize for things he didn't say.

Stop playing their rigged game. I repeat: stop playing MAGA's rigged game.
