Honestly the worse things get, I'm considering just not buying a smartphone for my kid until they're 18. It's brainrot for everyone involved. Including adults.

We monitor any activity they get up to when using our phones, such as the youtube channels (only educational channels allowed), streaming services, parental controls. We teach them or comment and question on what they're consuming, and increase their critical thinking. Even when my kids turn into their teens, we agree we'll be using dumbphones.

I think the chase format is good (but can be improved). I think eliminations are a good thing. I think how they've placed a premium on winning, while also still encouraging consistent placement too is good. I think the stages are a good thing too, for the most part. The dichotomy between winning and placing and how the points skew, in this system, is really well done IMHO and honestly doesn't really get the large credit/recognition that maybe it could truly garner.

If NASCAR goes back to the old school Winston Cup points format of just a straight 36 race, purely weekly positional points payout scoring system, I'll think it'll be the most idiotic decision they've made in my entire life.

Booshka is referring to Francis Fukuyama's article/book in which he argued that liberal democracy and capitalism had thoroughly defeated the ideological alternatives. While Fukuyama's argument is a bit exaggerated for effect, he hasn't exactly been wrong especially in the West. The problem for those like Booshka is to demonstrate what the alternatives are. After 9/11 some tried to argue that Islamism is one, except it won't really take off anywhere that Islam isn't already dominant nor does it threaten the Western system. Booshka is trying to roll back even further to argue that Marxism might again be resurgent even as it fails to get traction beyond lip service in places like Era, Bluesky and China. The "socialists" of our culture can't even commit to socialism such as Nepenthe and Hasan's steadfast refusal to demand central planning over private property and obscene profit from trade let alone support the existing mass party against any and all opposition. A vague lament about "capitalism" that identifies nothing at all about it does not an ideological alternative make.

As a Christian (or from a Christian perspective) do you agree or disagree with spilling your seed (e.g. masturbation, condom use, et al.)?

Now, the question is: Is the Lord displeased with all acts of spilling the seed (e.g. masturbation, condom use, et al.) or was He only displeased with Onan for not fulfilling his duty towards his brother's wife?

For not fulfilling his duty and for directly disobeying God, that's kind of a no no. I don't think the spilling seed would have mattered if he wasn't under direct obligation to use that seed.

A shitload of the "value" that America "produces" is entirely speculative bullshit (aka, shit that rich people find cool.) So when investors start salivating over some brand new tech or industry or start-up, the value is based just in that- the potential or theoretical return that the industry could hold. This is bad because if investors get the return of these things wrong, which is always a non-zero chance, then the market tanks and takes the economy with it. There's nothing else really to prop this shit up because we hardly produce anything of tangible value. There aren't significant raw materials here compared to, like, Africa or South America, and besides, manufacturing and agriculture are for the poor/non-white countries. No one in America wants to work on an assembly line or on a farm. We want comfy bullshit jobs or our own businesses which are usually service-based.

Overall it reduces barriers, things you can't access or are expensive to access like legal advice and translations are now a chat message away. Human + machine is the key here. The glue between things that weren't as easy to connect before. 

The AI bubble won't burst until Moscow falls and when Moscow falls the 90's boom will repeat. Much more to loot in Putins Russia than the USSR.
