Guys, it's more likely there just isn't gonna be a new Mass Effect. And not due to trumpist or saudi censorship, but simply because the debt is big and Bioware is an easy target since they likely haven't been profitable since 2014/15

The only thing that could maybe change their mind is if they are very confident in the Mass Effect TV show being successful.

BioWare already basically doesn't exist anymore. Schreier said they're down to less than 100 people. You can't make a Mass Effect with a team that size.

Honestly, I think I get you point across, but I would mention there a tons of Japanese games that never got a wide released because they were to Japanese, so is not like they begin doing it just now.

I think there is something cool about how another culture depicts another, so is interesting how OG Silent Hill resonated with westerners.

What I suspect, in the case of SH specifically, is that Konami really has not the confidence to pull the same effect without some western studio helping, as SH Short Message wasn’t exactly received as another PT. They also, correctly, think that westerners are more open to Japanese culture, so a SH in full Japanese setting is less risk averse compared to post Silence Team years. 

They were wise to choose R07 as a writer, because while he writes a lot of stories in Japanese settings, he has some western sensibilities that doesn’t exactly share with the rest of the VN writers that generally have. Ironically, he  mentioned being pretty willing to go outside his comfort zone and write the story in a western setting, so is not like there isn’t desire to do this anymore.

The failure to build out Mass Effect unironically almost gets me into chud rage territory. There was decent world building and it had cultural capital to launch a movie or TV series or endless games. Could’ve made a RTS spin off and people would’ve jumped on it. Whatever stumbles happened with ME3, somehow, all of that potential died with Andromeda.

That was ten years ago and nothing recaptured it. Maybe Bethesda’s Starfield whenever that comes out.

It's probably one of those things like America deserved something like 9/11 and Charlie Kirk deserved to be murdered but the actual 9/11 or murder were not done for the reasons they should have been and that's why they're bad. Or like how they're always saying social media needs to be regulated but not by restricting it from children or blocking non-consensual porn. It's complex and nuanced, someone like you wouldn't understand. Especially since claiming things are complex is a tool of the powerful fascist status quo, these exceptions prove the rule.

Who legitimately cares about a new mass effect from Bioware in 2025?  The bioware that made that amazing trilogy isn't the same. 'Tha Veilguard' is an abomination of epic proportions, and no doubt they would do the same shit to Mass Effect. Hell, they already retconned the asari to nonbinary or whatever modern gender nonsense.

I'm glad the Legendary Edition exists, as those 3 games are timeless.

Erin Reed has multiple times argued that Blue States need to provide funding and housing and so on for trans people to escape to so they don't have to already line up jobs and everything else.
