Welp, that'll do it. After almost 5 months and over 2100 miles I've finished my thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. I really don't know what to say, it's an odd feeling. No more walking I guess. Thank you all for being a part of this journey of mine. I think I'll sleep for a bit now. Wet John out

This won't be accepted by Hamas as it stands. Arab countries also have a number of issues with this plan.

This plan is basically Trump's push for the US and Israel to occupy Gaza forever.

Peace plan sounds like a trap, its one sided and overseen by US who will always place Israeli interests (including genocide) above any Palestinian relief. Isreali forces will remain, IDF to train (and i assume paid by arab nations) Palestinian security forces which i assume will codify a pact to keep control of Palestine in Tel Aviv. They (Israel) will exit in "phases". Complete joke. Non-starter.

This isn't going to work at all, only way forward and to remove Hamas is to remove Israeli + US presence from Palestine, we keep going in circles because US is not an good faith actor, they'll favour Israel in all decisions and we'll be back with the need to resist Israeli brutality/atrocity and another military attack on Palestine will follow. These guys don't want peace. They want real-estate and profit. A real and lasting peace can be achieved if Arab nations are allowed to govern without Israeli or US involvement.

I can believe that. As someone with ADHD, both types of tasks seem like something I would absolutely excel at, even if I struggle immensely with structure and organization in day to day life.

Onto the study itself: Well...yea. Given that the human brain is what made us who we are today, it makes sense that there would be evolutionary impacts to that, especially as our brain continues to evolve to the rapidly changing world we create.

But that's not happening. Also it's not evolution.

As I'm sure you know, autism is a wide spectrum. I know that it can be debilitating and it can be a significant challenge for parents in certain cases, but I also know plenty of autistic people who make positive contributions to society. I know parents that wouldn't change a single thing about their autistic child, and parents that would.

What I was trying to get in my post is that I believe diversity of neurotypes is beneficial to a society. Neuro diverse people might offer solutions to problems that another group only containing one neurotype wouldn't come up with, and everyone in the more diverse group benefits from that solution no matter their neurotype.

It can be beneficial in a certain environment to being small or tall, evolutionarily speaking. If someone can reach higher fruits, or sneak into smaller spaces to retrieve resources, the whole community can benefit from that... but at a point being too small or too tall becomes a disability to that individual. If an environment is selecting for 'tall' you're going to get more individuals that are *too* tall than in an environment that doesn't. But if there's another community in the same environment who aren't likely to produce tall individuals, they're going to be out competed.

I apologize if any of this is coming over as too clinical or academic. I love a wide number of neurodiverse people who see their diversity as a net positive, and I agree with them. I recognize that many people don't feel that way too. But as to the question of how evolution drove us to where we are, I think nature does indeed select for diversity of neurotypes, even if that leads to some members of the community where the difference in how their brain works offers little to that community and is a challenge for that individual and their family.

What in the fucking environment is selecting for "neurodiversity" like autism or schizophrenia or any of this? Especially on an evolutionary timescale?
