This a pro-cuomo/pro-trump magazine, you can see here I've condemned all parties for their respective complicity with fascism. An actual talking point is the constant calling of the photo "impromptu" as there's no proof of such other than a damage control statement from a Mamdani spokeperson and it's illogical given Mamdani's background, which fits the actual definition of a talking point.

Honest question, really aimed at those who have children: Do you really think young kids should be learning about gender in school?? And just so you know I'm not advocating for this man's actions, Yes, I believe there are more than two/isn't necessarily assigned by what you were born as. I just don't have faith in their teaching of basic sex education as it is, as someone who had gone through it in a California public school. I think this particular item is too complicated of a topic and I wouldn't want the risk of a teacher interjecting their beliefs or begrudgingly teaching this in a tone of mockery. Had this gone through, I can also see this as just being a footnote in sex education when it should be a longer conversation. I think parents have to go the extra mile with this one and should NEVER just rely on school for sex education anyway.

As for the rest, he has no excuse for ignoring the other bills presented to him. JFC.

Children are having gender norms pushed on them from before *birth* in most cases. For many kids, and not just trans kids, if they fall outside of what society says boys and girls are 'supposed' to do, they will experience harm.

Learning at a young age that gender isn't *set* and that they are free to grow and explore, and yes, change, is a healthier way of going about it.

You worry about what they might hear at school, which, fine. But what are they going to hear from everywhere else? What are they hearing from the TV if their parents watch the news *OR HELL* watch sports and don't mute the commercials that play during the broadcast?

'Parents should' yeah, they should. But reality has taught me that they can't be relied on either. A uniform curriculum devised based on our best understanding of child psychology is going to do far more good overall than leaving it to parents.

I grew up without any education about these things. It caused me real harm that I am still trying to recover from.
