I knew something felt off about Colbert reading from a script interrogating Mamdani's stances on Israel. It really rubbed me the wrong way and it made me lose a lot of respect I had for him. While it seems it was more CBS producer shenanigans (which will undoubtedly get worse with Bari Weiss fucking around their editorial policies), Colbert playing along with humiliating him was an extremely shitty thing to do.

Took these outrage merchants long enough.

Honest question, really aimed at those who have children: Do you really think young kids should be learning about gender in school?? And just so you know I'm not advocating for this man's actions, Yes, I believe there are more than two/isn't necessarily assigned by what you were born as. I just don't have faith in their teaching of basic sex education as it is, as someone who had gone through it in a California public school. I think this particular item is too complicated of a topic and I wouldn't want the risk of a teacher interjecting their beliefs or begrudgingly teaching this in a tone of mockery. Had this gone through, I can also see this as just being a footnote in sex education when it should be a longer conversation. I think parents have to go the extra mile with this one and should NEVER just rely on school for sex education anyway.

As for the rest, he has no excuse for ignoring the other bills presented to him. JFC.
