The nendoroid though is just fucking tasteless. Mouthwashing is just not the property you use for cutesy merchandise. Everything about that game is incredibly bleak, dark, and morbid.

 

The developers approved this… and I know for a fact that the Mouthwashing fanbase is extremely tumblerina like, with shipping and cutesy shit all over the place.

Off topic but I finished Monster: Ed Gein. Which I thought was pretty good, minus the sympathetic angle given to a man who literally killed women, with chainsaws, ate their boiled organs, and wore their skin. But I later learned how inaccurate it was, and I had to bump my rating down because half of it was essentially fan-fiction. I didn't know anything about Ed Gein other than he was some kind of serial killer.

Now imagine my realization of what killimaij's avatar was the entire time

Hello, could we maybe get an explanation on why everyone in the Hasan thread got warned and threadbanned for posting/discussing a new video of his, regarding well-known racist Asmongold, which had absolutely nothing to do with the dog issue that got (rightly) shut down?

I'm assuming an accident 'cause the situation was heated, but I really do not understand. That thread is for discussing his content, no?

+1, I will concede I probably should not have mentioned the collar-issue, but the main intent of my post was to discuss Asmongold and how he should not be allowed on Twitch. I understand and accept the warning, but a threadban seems a bit severe for someone who wants to discuss the content of the thread. I was a regular contributor to that thread/community OT, so this is difficult.

I looked into this a little more, and the Hasanbros are technically correct: the video is superficially an unrelated "takedown" of Asmongold. 

But I enjoy when the common Erans are mistreated by the authorities, so it's all gravy.

Silent Hill is a franchise that survived for YEARS off of its fans buying merchandise and tie-in material in place of actual games. There IS an audience for the rape monster figurine that will buy it no matter how much REEE types want to morally grandstand about how the vendor is "insensitive" for making it.

I love Silent Hill but I don't really see the appeal of "rape monster". It's not like it's aesthetically pleasing despite the context.

Though to be fair I don't see the appeal of any of those poptoys/nendoroids/whatever.

People already have collected kitschy bullshit like this for so many years and so many characters that they don't even register at all anymore, so it is silly to see them be like this rape monster goes too far (to embody as a statue...it's fine to include in a video game).

Got a stack of graphic novels from the library since I've been out of the scene for about 10 yrs and just grabbed a few Id heard about and this was part of the stack.

What the fuck was that.

It is just such a standard monster hunting story, like could be a YA novel it's so just whatever based on my skimming of the back half. But it has legitimately the grisliest visialized violence against children I have seen in any media. Just pages and pages of some of the most intense violence I've seen in a comic.

I'm typically very whatever on media violence but this genuinely made me ill. Like the hook of the series as far as I could tell was the violence against kids.

What do fans of the series find in this?

License departments are unlikely the same people as game directors or artists who envisioned them in the first place. Nobody in the room signing things off is able to be like "well what I was trying to depict here is..." It's lawyers and people who work in marketing.

I think the catch here for one of these things is that like

Mouthwashing is a very indie game AFAIK, the chances that they have a separate licensing department sufficiently divorced from the mainline devs rather than it being just the devs themselves (especially with how people mentioning that the devs seem to be alright with this kind of treatment of their game in general) seem low enough to make the Anya figure so ?????????

Like usually it's a case of licensing departments being funny or just not double checking things (e.g what likely happened with that one Peacemaker emote with Fortnite), but especially with how people have mentioned that the figure has a very specific plot reference, I feel like a lot of stuff for it is leaning towards "I have a lot of questions and some of them are just me wanting to question the devs out of sheer bafflement over how we got here"

Honestly this censorship annoyed me. It's already censored enough in an artistic way in the original. The remake just makes the entire scene feel pointless because you can barely see jack shit. And the people who claim to be anti-censorship were mostly very silent on this one, because it didn't involve a waifu.

This guy claims "artistic reasons" of why it annoyed him, but the truth is that he's a gay man upset there isn't more male fanservice in games. Said so himself. 

Reminder this guy constantly whines about women being sexualized in the burka thread, under the pretense of feminist virtue signaling bullshit, but in reality it's mostly because he's grossed out by women, and salty his homoerotic fantasies aren't being catered to.

The original series is set in a world where vicious, demonic monsters are very real, and very, very dangerous. The main protagonist is Erica Slaughter, a highly-skilled but deeply cynical monster hunter and member of the mysterious Order of St. George, a secretive, brutal cabal of warriors who contain and destroy monstrous threats around the globe.

It totally sounds like an ultra violent YA novel series.  

Comic books are good.
