I thought I saw this and was correct, Kiwi Farms has a hundred page thread specifically about trans retro games which I can't link here because of the word filter I put in.  

This thread was initially focused solely on Ultrakill but over time it grew out to encompass all the "retro" troonslop games that have come out recently.

As a preface to the thread, there is an Internet phenomena where people of gender are obsessed with violent games that have "retro" styling that isn't retro and is just shitty lazy game design. I'm not sure what about low quality textures and models attracts so many people of gender but it's there.

I know I've had issues through this project and my fiancee's well being concerns after her mother's dead did take me out of focus for a bit, but this is just exhausting to go through, most of these are small errors that can be fixed in seconds.

I didn't read any of the thread at all. My interpretation of the text I quoted is that it was a multi-stage processes:
1. This game by a trans person sucks and I hate it, here is a thread about it.
2. Here are some other games I hate.
3. Hey a bunch of these appear to be created by trans people and similar, this may be a trend.
4. The thread was renamed to be about the last part, the early pages will not be about this because that focus was applied to the thread after the fact.

There are a number of Kiwi Farms threads that follow this type of pattern and the early pages will be mostly about something else or something specific and the OP will never be updated beyond a sentence or so. The early pages of some streamer threads aren't really about the streamer being a lolcow at all for example, that comes about later like on page 200 or some shit as the person devolves or reveals themselves.

As much as I really liked the first game and as much as I love Obsidian, this being published by Microsoft is making it pretty hard to buy it, even without the particular satire of the franchise. Yeah it's really one the most centrist games I played, like who in their right mind is playing TOW (1 or 2) thinking they'll learn some real anticapitalist thoughts. It's probably one the less interesting setting Obsidian ever made or worked in.

First of all, where is this 3M figure coming from? The only numbers I can find are for MAU (147M), DAU (13.8M) and peak CCU (40M). 0.3% of any of those numbers is not 3M. If you can find a reliable source for the total number of Steam users, please share it.

Secondly, the hateful content isn't visible at all to the average consumer. They don't look at profiles of random strangers and when they occasionally use forums, they're looking for specific information (which is easy to find thanks to the search function). Acting like Steam forums are equivalent to 8chan is an extremely big stretch. I just loaded up the forums for three recent, popular games (Dispatch, Escape from Duckov and RV There Yet) and I didn't see any Nazi rhetoric. I suspect this would be true of 99.7% of forum posts on Steam.

And, once again, terms like "all over," "rampant" and "massive" are relative and require a minimum percentage to be accurate. 0.3% is not massive by any definition of the word. Does Valve have a problem with the Alt-Right on Steam? Yes. Is it an issue that affects the majority of users? Not at all. If you report problematic users, Valve will address them. Steam is a huge platform and Valve is a small company so it takes them longer to find and deal with problematic users. Steam is also a free platform so there's nothing to stop problematic users from just creating new accounts. You just have to keep reporting them.

This silly "Steam is full of Nazis" narrative reminds me of when Sterling had an entire Youtube series dedicated to playing shovelware on Steam, then proclaiming that those games were flooding the ecosystem and burying the good games. In reality, that was never the case and Sterling was just being sensationalist for clicks.

In the modern world, it's "embarrassing" for most people to dance. Only one example, but I don't think that being born in an era where we are denied our base caveman needs is "goddamned fortunate". In remote tribes they don't have a concept of "can dance well" or "can sing well" - everyone in the tribe just sings and dances every night because it's fun. I can't think of a place I can go in my city to have fun without spending money and/or being shamed for enjoying myself.
