It's really neat but it is of course a purely visual mod so your illusion will be shattered constantly, not just in dialogue and whatnot but also when Kasumi walks up to Kasumi for the Royal content. As you mentioned, there is also a separate mod that attempts to address this by editing the text and making changes to the story but it's obviously text-only so the voice acting doesn't change and the story changes aren't to my tastes necessarily. There's a THIRD mod that does edit the voice acting to swap pronouns but it doesn't match with the edited text of the story mod. It's all just a bit messy and doesn't fully line up the way I'd like.

I will play it one day though, so I'm keeping my eye on both this and the P3 one. Just waiting for them to be as complete as they ever will be.

Imagine the flip, a mod that makes the MC a man instead of a woman, wonder how these people would react…

They could never in a million years admit that Trump was right about something let alone everything.

Kamala still keeps up the lie that Joe Biden was and is fit to serve. The others just hope people forget they put an autopen in the white house and let Vladimir Putin, Hamas and Xi run amock for 4 years.
They in fact were able to get Trump for "January 6th" (the figurative January 6th aka the attempt to overturn the election and/or produce fraudulent electors) and he was facing multiple charges from multiple jurisdictions over it until it was dropped because the DOJ does not prosecute sitting Presidents.

They were not able to get Trump for the literal January 6th (aka a bunch of morons invading Congress) because Trump's statements were not illegal, they fail the Brandenburg test.

Not only is none of what you stated true, even if it were true it would not be a defense against what Trump was facing charges for nor what he could have faced charges for. You are not allowed to commit crimes because other people did. You especially aren't allowed to attempt election fraud because your opponent hid in a basement and you still couldn't beat him.

The real reason Trump wasn't prosecuted harder is that his "plan" was completely fucking stupid and wouldn't have worked even if they hadn't fucked it up by being lazy about it.

This is it: my ResetEra Trolley Problem.

In order to defend my boy Soapbox, I have to...*gulp*...agree with Nepenthe.

Nepenthe wrote:It's not that he doesn't want to pay for improving/maintaining society. It's that it's harder for the bottom 80% of society to afford tax increases because it's getting harder for them to afford life in general, a life that- despite tax increases on said bottom 80%- is nonetheless eroding away and falling behind other comparably-developed countries and even some underdeveloped ones (lol at Cuba having higher literacy than us.) You can't shrug your shoulders at the lack of wage growth and the wealthy dodging their responsibilities.

The solution starts with taxing the wealthy egregiously. But here we run into the contradiction where both parties are capitalist and thus are not going to actually implement the solution because it's against their values and interests. And instead of dealing with that contradiction, we instead engage in intraclass conflict and call OP, a Black man who- as a Black man, is statistically likely to be struggling more just due to systemic racism- a selfish Republican.

Like going by this thread you'd think the Sheriff of Nottingham was the real hero of the story lol.

You don't because she doesn't know what she's talking about. The top 1% already pay 40-45% of income taxes (depending on the year because their income fluctuates so much) despite accruing less of their income that way, easily even more of property and capital gains since lower classes don't own these. The top 50% of people pay 97% of national income taxes, it's greater at the state and local level.

Taxes have to go up on the "bottom 80%" because spending only ever increases and the alternative is runaway inflation. The United States already has one of the most progressive tax systems in the world, if it's going to copy those "other comparably-developed countries" then the answer is massive tax increases on those bottom 80% like those countries have.

People look at only the top tax rate and say "oh this country taxes the rich more because their top rate is 55% and in the US it's only 39%" but they completely ignore that the bottom 20% has a rate of 20+% and in the US that's 0% or less. They don't tax the rich more, they tax everyone more.

Also the literacy rate has no correlation with taxes. Because spending has no correlation with education performance. Plus Hispanics who are Spanish-first skew the US literacy rate, they typically aren't tested in Spanish and thus fail to be literate. (That said, whites who aren't literate are the major failing group. Era regularly demonstrates this.)

Anyway, the point is that she's wrong and Soapbox should be guillotined.

Plus as some have repeatedly pointed out to him, it’s a 23% increase to the millage rate, not a 23% increase to his taxes. This is the 2nd time this buffoon has made a thread about it and he still doesn’t understand.

Yeah, I was glad to see somebody had posted that in the thread because few people on Era are going to realize that a township that raises property taxes 23% in a single year is not a township where nobody but an Era poster is going to be upset and where the city council can show its face in town. lol

I've looked into this a bit, and it seems for an average income individual in the country, the tax burden on that person is almost exactly the same between most Western European countries and the US when factoring in the higher personal taxes on labor in Europe + VAT vs sales/state tax, but the average cost of healthcare being lower in Europe vs the average US healthcare cost, and the higher property taxes in the US (unless you go to a very low property tax state).   However, Americans make more money on average than Europeans so they have more disposable income, have access to a bigger market and more job opportunities, and it's definitely easier to start a business in the US.  But for someone like Nepenthe, who can't see the advantages she has, it might as well be Serbia.

There's a pretty simple answer for why despite all the differences in the details for the median or average person it all washes out to mostly the same position but simple answers are verboten in political "science" and instead you should spend all your time designing metrics that advocate your outlier political position overly concerned with extreme cases. But that's none of my business...
