I spent about 6 years in a poly relationship/marriage after 3 years of it being monogamous and "not working", and ended up pursuing divorce at the end, if you're not getting yours needs met by your partner in a monogamous relationship (or vice versa) and you pursue poly to "fix' it, probably at some point you will end up in a loveless relationship or one of you finding another partner who does fulfill you that isnt your main partner.

I'm now monogamous again with someone I feel truly in love with in all ways with a great sex life myself, but I have seen couples who make poly work longterm and I've got no shame or ill will towards those relationships that do work that way. Usually the ones I've seen work were poly from the beginning though and not ones that "converted" to poly over time.

I'm somewhere between in an open relationship and poly in my current relationship - I've been in one fully poly relationship previously as well. It's like somewhat fascinating to me to read about other people's experiences with dating apps, as a nonbinary polyamorous person I've met so much cool and interesting people off Tinder and Bumble that would've been extremely difficult to meet irl. 2) Your fears are absolutely founded. Dating as a poly man is a nightmare for the reasons you mentioned, and if you compare your success to your wife's in any way it's going to feel bad.
If you continue in this arrangement, you have to be content with your life as it currently is, and with the possibility that you never see other people and your wife is. If you don't want that, don't pursue it.

Graduated 20 years ago and have advanced my career to the point where I had the best job I've ever had. And got laid off yesterday with the rest of my team. We were contractors, so of course, no severance pay.



I've spent all afternoon yesterday and all day today so far applying for jobs. The fucking Friday before Thanksgiving man, wtf. Already told the kids to not expect anything for Christmas this year. I've definitely made poor financial decisions in my life and have been working hard these last few years to pay that shit off. Finally made a dent this past year and paid off a decent amount of debt.
