Long story short a friend of 10 years asked me to book a holiday for her and her husband as I know her my whole life I said sure I can help.



She paid it off weekly for 2 months but stopped it paying this week as she doesn't wanna go anymore and left me with a bill of €1600 there is nothing I can do.



I cannot go to small claims court either. I'm heartbroken I lost what I thought was a friend, used and scammed me and here is the best part I don't work due to my disability so that's me screwed I'll be paying it off over 1/2 years that's for sure.



Any money I had for my heating bill I won't be using I'll use that to pay some of it off. I won't be turning on my heating.



The holiday company said I can cancel the entire thing for €700. I don't have that kind of money either. I live on very little, when I explained about the bill she said I'm not paying anymore and when I said you can't leave with the bill she blocked me.



All I did was try to help someone in need. So this is your warning don't end up like me and if you're paying for someone get the entire payment upfront.

Man, this really sucks. I've literally worked since my parents forced me to in 7th grade. Worked at a cafeteria in college. Had summer jobs when I came home. Graduated 20 years ago and have advanced my career to the point where I had the best job I've ever had. And got laid off yesterday with the rest of my team. We were contractors, so of course, no severance pay.



I've spent all afternoon yesterday and all day today so far applying for jobs. The fucking Friday before Thanksgiving man, wtf. Already told the kids to not expect anything for Christmas this year. I've definitely made poor financial decisions in my life and have been working hard these last few years to pay that shit off. Finally made a dent this past year and paid off a decent amount of debt. Now I wish I would have put that money in savings, as in a month or two, I'm fucked. To top it off, my mortgage is going up 500 dollars next month because of taxes and my fucking microwave stopped working yesterday.



I couldn't tell you the last time I cried and I'm literally crying right now writing this. Like, man, I don't even know what to do.

Taxes and insurance. In my case, insurance, because I made a claim for my roof last year. It's a fucking scam. Pay 3500 dollars a year every year for a decade, make one claim and get 4k out of damage costing 10k, and then premiums double. And other companies refuse to insure you because of a recent claim.
