if I was paying people to do these things, would it make sense to offer more money for the one which is harder to accomplish and thus has a much smaller hiring pool available? if for no other reason than offering more money might be an incentive for more people to learn how to do it and give me access to a larger hiring pool, to find the best person for the job?

There is no ethical consumption under capitalism, basically meaning those living in a capitalist society (particularly those with lower capital) aren't to blame for the ills and injustices it may impose on them, that the ultimate responsibility lies with the perpetrator and those in a strong position to enact change. And any one individual can't be perfect in their response to any and all injustices (which I think means we're all hypocrites, so don't let that prevent you from sometimes doing something ethical.)

But none of this is an excuse that justifies disengaging. It's not a perpetual "get out of responsibility and guilt" free card. It is not moral permission or justification for those with the means to act, to sit idly by.

None of this is remotely true and it's based on incorrect science in the first place because men produce estrogen. Changing the balance of estrogen vs. testosterone does not change sex or your biology. Men with excess estrogen or low testosterone are a thing and everyone knows it, in America anyway, because there are ads on TV about this.

Thordinson, like all of these people, are perfectly fine with poor people having to spend more as long as rich people (at a lower share of their total income) also have to pay more. "But but this will mean poor people get more money" that they just have to spend more of and have taxed away. That's assuming they can keep their jobs after you used violence to force everyone's costs to go up. And then these same people, like Nepenthe, complain (and want to start using more violence) because people want to use technology and automation to escape the costs they've had forced on them.

The irony of that last part is that all these anti-capitalists want to thwart the only part of capitalism that Marx understood: that capitalism inherently drives the price of everything down to zero.

Marx was wrong because he assumed nothing new can ever come about and he also assumed that there's a single "price" across all of the economy, which is why the "contradiction" of the falling rate of profit predestines the collapse of the capitalism. (And why this has never happened despite the settled science Marx received divine visions of.) But all of these morons don't even get to that point, they see the first premise and say NOOOO WE HAVE TO STOP IT AND ARTIFICIALLY RAISE PRICES FOREVER.
