Not a bad direct outside Nintendo trying to sell us the Virtual Boy accessory. It could have been worse.
The Virtual Boy Virtual Console kind of pisses me off because the 3DD was the perfect place to release those games but because they waited so long, now you need a overpriced piece of plastic or cardboard box to play those games.
They did DK64 island dlc, but they didn't put DK64 on the classics service.
Christ, Nintendo is dogshit.
Why the fuck they are still going full snail pace with the virtual console?
What a fantastic direct. Surprised Nintendo got the scoop on New Resident Evil stuff.
Also everything is hinting towards Super Mario Galaxy 3 being the big new Switch 2 3D Mario game.
We're getting Fire Emblem but we haven't even scratched the surface of Nintendo's best stuff like Zelda and Xenoblade. And third parties are also pulling their weight. Switch 2 has been kind of slow for me but I can tell it's really going to pick up steam now.

There will be a lot of games coming between now and Christmas.
Galaxy 2 is a nice surprise.
They don't seem to have a lot of faith in Prime 4.
Fire Emblem is anime trash.
I wonder if the Virtual Boy will work with the Labo cardboard headset?
They're insane for finishing Prime 4. That's going to sell 500 copies in between all the Marios.
Making it part an open world/bike/action game is probably an attempt to increase its appeal.
I forgot that Nintendo games don’t drop in price. Zelda Echos is still full price. Kirby is $80 because it includes DLC.
I don’t know if retail chains have Black Friday holiday sales like they used to.
I appreciate nintendo did not change U R MR GAY for the rerelease
I think Prime 4 has potential to shock people. The open world stuff looks shit on paper but what if it's like, I dunno, a metroid with ocarina of time style areas that are littered with mini metroid dungeons like breath of the wild? If you just took the good bits of the prime games, broke them and scattered them around a world you'd have a 50 hour game anyway.
The art looks great but the graphics are certainly Switch level and not Switch 2 level.
Overall I don't know what to expect. Sylux is like a multiplayer character from Metroid Prime Hunters(?). Samus on a bike?
It looks cool but it could also suck is how I feel about it.
Not following the discourse but I assume the concerns come from it potentially being like Arkham Knight. Where Arkham Asylum was Metroid Prime. Arkham City was Zelda with its open map and dungeons. And then Arkham Knight had a lot of busywork with the car to pad out the game time, while the levels and dungeons got less interesting.

Just release some marketing materials with zero suit Samus straddling that bike. Go for the gooner market.
That'll probably sell some copies.

Metroid Prime 4 looks sick

That seems to be the case, I could see a lot of BOTW/TOTK fans giving Prime 4 a shot after seeing its open world gameplay. I wouldn't be surprised if the open world design was heavily encouraged by the upper brass at Nintendo when they restarted development at Retro Studios.
Finally finished Donkey Kong.
Haven't 100% it and I still might go back, but man what a good game.
I may jump into Galaxy now, but Prime 4 can't come soon enough.
I was checking games I want to buy but haven't had the time:
- Donkey Kong
- Final Fantasy Tactics
- Trails of the Sky 1st
- Sonic & Shadow Generations
- Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2
- Bravely Default
- Kirby and the Forgotten World
- Suikoden I + II
- Fast Fusion
- Hades II
but shit's expensive and work is so busy
Maybe I need to go back to writing reviews for the Nintendo site.
Just use AI to write that shit but get the free games.
There's stuff to come too. I'm waiting to see how pokemon turns out, Metroid is round the corner, I need to play FF tactics (it's the only good version ever released over here), Trails is a maybe and that's before we even get to Hades (I didn't care so much for the first one). Literally not enough time for nintendo never mind anything else like Yotei or hell is us.
Kirby Air Riders may well be the most, "Who the hell asked for all this?" game ever made.
Honestly, the amount of content Sakurai has jammed into this sequel to one of the most middling games in the GameCube library is both confusing and intriguing.

AAAAA games on par on a Nintendo machine.
I feel like Michael Caine at the end of the Nolan Batman trilogy.
Nintendo is one more console iteration from reaching the graphics plateau where their game performance compared to the dedicated consoles becomes indistinguishable to the average consumer. I can guarantee that most people are still gonna be using their PS5s well into the 2030s because the demand for uber powerful systems won't be as prevalent when the current level performance is perfectly acceptable. Sony planning a portable PS5 is a big piece of evidence pointing towards this future.
Metroid Dread is superb. They absolutely nailed the atmosphere and feel of a Metroid game. The additional movement options are fantastic.
Hoping that Nintendo pre-orderd enough RAM for 200 million switch 2's
From what I can tell Metroid Prime 4 is just literally Metroid Prime 4. It seems to have the gameplay loop that made the first 3 enjoyable.
I'm not sure what people expected, probably some imaginary overhaul of the formula. I'll get it soon because I like what I'm seeing. Having a 'world map + 5 dungeons' structure isn't as common as it used to be. It's one of those: "They don't make games like this anymore" type of games.
Also the environment art looks great, I don't think folks appreciate that enough.
It might be an 8 or a 9 who the hell cares
I think if Retro Studios were to do a major overhaul of Metroid Prime's gameplay, they wouldn't call it "Metroid Prime". It would be called something like "Metroid Evolution"
Also losing your shit over a cutscene these people are 12.
The scene isn't even that bad and for new players they provide helpful information. I think a "veteran" mode would've helped. Just some tweaks for fans of the series. Anyway it's a "weird" Nintendo game and that’s usually a very interesting Nintendo game and what I assume the last Prime game. Although rumor has it work on Prime 5 has already begun.

1080p 120fps ftw
I'm big on the prime series overall. loved 2 and currently replaying 3.
it's amazing we're even getting this considering the series doesn't sell much compared to the other first party games.
Quote:a 120hz first party Nintendo first person shooter with mouse aiming 😭 we're in the craziest timeline
Some top brass at Nintendo is looking at those Zootopia 2 box-office numbers and thinking "we should make a new Star-Fox game and movie"
