Part of the issue is that the liberal whites are so embarrassed, ashamed, and hateful towards the conservative whites that they're not actually in a position to help them because helping someone requires, to some degree, some level of genuine interest in one's well being and outcomes, some level of ability to humanize the person in front of them.
