Eh, months ago a Chinese dude that lives in the same department building as me opened a barber shop that seems exclusively catered to Chinese people, for some reason.  (as, everything is in Chinese). Has almost no clientele and seems that occasionally just gathers other Chinese neighbors to talk, not necessarily to pay for a cut. (I joke that is secret mahjong parlor  )

Probably is something with first generation immigrants that act this way, we are close to Chinatown but the influx of eastern Asian people is pretty recent. Dunno what are the inner politics of immigrants here, so maybe is a situation like, for lack of better example, Yakuza:Like a Dragon (new Chinese immigrants displaced by old Chinese ones).

Was browsing the video games sales autisties site and came across a blast from the past name while laughing at a mild fanboy spat going on in their Black Friday week console sales thread.

Do they "need" it. No definitely not. Switch 2 has had incredible sales since launch frankly. That doesnt change regardless whatever the holiday sales end up being

I'm honestly just more looking / thinking about next year. I'm very curious if they can keep up this momentum and I just straight up don't know the answer. They've sold so much up front it makes me wonder if sales taper a bit during the "normal" months next year but its hard to say. If there was a big mass market game scheduled in the Spring / Summer next year I'd be more confident they can keep the explosive pace.

There is no reality where Nintendo doesn't kill it this holiday.

There is no historical precedence to even be having a discussion about how these Black Friday numbers may suggest Switch 2 will tail off next year. Black Friday are deep discount dependent sales and Switch 2 is and will remain at peak prices. This is well known about Nintendo and their products. It's not in impulse buy territory for price conscious consumers who jump the line for price promotional weeks.

 Let's see the overall results of holiday sales before this is even on the table.

They’re not at all the same. There’s really no shortage of friction between the cultures.
