So to play music on the bike you need the Metroid Prime 4 Samus Amiibo

I told myself I wouldn't buy anymore Amiibo but this one actually looks nice too Existential

Kind of weird that you don't get this unlock with all Samus amiibo.

Overall Nintendo has sneakily dropped a whole bunch of holiday products
- LEGO Gameboy
- Metroid Prime 4
- Sylux / Samus + Bike / Samus Amiibo
- Kirby's Air Ride
- Kirby / Meta Knight Amiibo / Waddle Dee Amiibo
- Rosalina's Storybook

I wonder if Metroid will sell with the holiday boost and word of mouth.

Just bought it digitally

The journos keep posting clips like: "Ugh this is just like Metroid Prime/Zelda/HALO" and I'm like, hell yeah Metroid Prime/Zelda/HALO.
It looks great for a souped up Switch game.

I’m loving Metroid Prime 4. Thought I might not dig the gameplay anymore but it’s absolutely compelling. Fidelity and atmosphere is great.

Pretty surprised I like it as much as I do.

Metroid Prime 4 is fantastic. I'm at the electricity plant, which is the 2nd dungeon.
- the opening and menu are very cool
- the environment art is fantastic, overall the graphics are great
- the music is orgasmic
- they nailed the core gameplay loop, it really feels like Metroid Prime, especially Metroid Prime 1
- the new psychic abilities are neat like throwing morphball bombs
- it is polished to perfection like most Nintendo games
- they've added a bunch of handy shortcuts for backtracking something missing in previous games
- I think it controls well with a pro controller and dual analog stick setup

As fas as the controversies go:
- The desert, it is supposed to be a desolate NIER-esque thing I think they pulled that off well
- NPCs, nothing you won't find in any other game. Just some guy on the radio I don't see what the big deal is
- Handholding? They went a bit in the Metroid Fusion direction, the first dungeon was certainly more guided the 2nd much less so also some moves are quite elaborate (like throwing morphballs bombs) so I get why this game needed a little more explanation you can turn off those tutorials in the menu
- Briefly drove the bike, Samus on a bike is awesome.

Overall the manchildren are crying over nothing. I'm 36, and bought and completed Metroid Prime 3 in 2007. I literally waited half my life for this sequel lol

Nintendo is crazy that they made this. Metroid Prime is sort of this weird thing in between Half Life and Half Life 2 and now it's back.

I'm a couple of hours in. Great so far. Another case of having "journalists" and dickhead fanboys (pretty much the same thing) looking for clicks with hot takes.

Ended up ordering the Mario Kart 9 bundle. May return it.

I read the Pro controller for Switch 1 works with it. That’s something. The $70 to $80 game prices are still crazy but the industry is trending that way. Difference being Nintendo rarely has deep sales. Still, may get Donkey Kong. And unironically, I think Kirby Air Ride 2 looks really fun.

To an extent I am treating it as a Switch Pro. I’ll finally get around to playing Zelda Echos.

It basically is a Switch Pro right now. Much like the PS5 and XSX before it, there's precious little that's exclusive to Switch 2. Pretty sure next year things will be much different with most, if not all, Nintendo games being S2 exclusive.

I dunno about Kirby- at times it feels like the game is playing itself.  Mario Kart and Sonic are better racers IMO.

The big hoopla with Prime 4 is the fetch quest but the journos play it wrong.

You are supposed to collect the green crystals throughout your adventure and there are plenty to grab in between dungeons.
It's not like Prime 1 and especially 2 where you can only collect the Artifacts after 'completing' the game and unlocking all the abilities.

However if you ignore the crystals for 95% of the game then you'll have to catch up on collecting it all in one go, instead of just the final 10% - 20% depending on how much you already picked up along the way. And of course the game hints and reminds you of this... multiple times. At the start, the middle, the end.  You know what they find annoying handholding.

And the design of the desert world itself, not too bad actually a bit like Mass Effect Andromeda, Max Max etc. where you would end up looking for a game like this.

What I think is that Metroid Prime 4 is actually a merger between Metroid Prime (Retro style) and what Namco Bandai was working on and the bike and hub world is a left over idea of the cancelled project. And the idea is pretty good, give Samus a cool vehicle that isn't a spaceship or a slow ass tank. Empty desert feels desolate like SOTC, Mass Effect and NIER. Give the game some space and breathing room. It works well for sci-fi, it's just that journalists are manbabies and the Switch 1 has technical limits and that's what they made this for.

Is the gameplay as compelling as the dungeons? Not really but that's really the problem is it. Prime 1 is rather small in scope all things considered. The world doesn't feel like a planet. Having only more difficult interconnected dungeons like Prime 2 got boring and draining. I think they're on the right track with this. Unless sales are really really bad I think they'll just keep at it. Metroid Prime Remastered: Switch 2 Ed. / Metroid Dread: Switch 2 Ed., Metroid Dread 2, Metroid Prime 2: Remastered, Metroid Prime 5. In that order.

Good to know, Prime 4 looks a little washed out with the standard brightness setting. better to set in-game brightness to 25-ish.

This for a 100

Sonic Crossworlds looks as good on Switch 2 as it does on PS5.

OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Sonic Crossworlds
Red Dead Redemption
Assassins Creed: Shadows

All released on the same day.

Shortages of more expensive gaming hardware.
Endless supply of 8nm chips.

I have a feeling this thing will go stratospheric.
