Depends what you consider a robot, I guess?

Is a vibrator a robot?

If the choice was between a vibrator and Nintex, I think we have the answer.

one of the interesting things about this?

the claim that anyone ever said this was debunked by Snopes...for a completely different story back in 2018

From a (far-right) New York Times story:
Quote:Wind energy is responsible for less than 0.01 percent of human-caused bird fatalities, per federal data, significantly less than buildings, cats or oil pits.
Stahp

1. Cats are human-caused?
2. Buildings and cats (and probably oil pits?) are massively more abundant than wind power. Does wind power even cover 0.01% of land? What would be the rate if wind power was as abundant as buildings?
Reply
Feral cats that used to be domestic could be considered human-caused deaths

https://www.noticer.news/sydney-mandy-sacher-anti-semitic-pocket-dial/

Quote:Sydney woman charged over ‘anti-Semitic voicemail’ says call was pocket dial

An intellectually disabled Sydney woman charged over an “anti-Semitic” voice message received by a well-known Jewish nutritionist has pleaded not guilty, saying the call was an accidental pocket dial.

Bunnings worker Serena Tonuri, 26, who is on the NDIS, faced Burwood Local Court on Thursday accused of sending a voicemail containing gunshots to child nutrition expert and author Mandy Sacher, 49, last month.

Ms Sacher contacted NSW Police saying she had received a call that caused her immediate fear, and Ms Tonuri was then arrested at her home in Meadowbank and charged with “using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend” by officers from Operation Shelter, a special taskforce set up to combat anti-Semitism.

But Ms Tonuri’s lawyer Osman Samin said outside court the call was a “pocket dial”.

“This seems to be a case of ‘charge first, and answer questions later’,” he told 9News.

“All of the circumstances of this case point in one direction – it is an accidental call.”

Mr Samin said his client had a severe intellectual and cognitive disability that required NDIS support, and was not anti-Semitic, saying “she doesn’t even understand the conflict [in Gaza]”.

The court heard Ms Tonuri allegedly sent a text message to Ms Sacher at 8.26pm on December 20 that read: “Hey, how are you? Is this Mandy? I saw somewhere that you helped Katie from Married at First Sight with her nutrition. I was wondering if you could help me as well. Serena.”

About five hours later a call from Ms Tonuri’s number went to Ms Sacher’s voicemail, and in the message that followed Ms Sacher heard sounds she believed were gunshots, causing her “immediate fear and nervousness”.

Mr Samin said the sounds could have been a bed creaking, or “someone snoring”.

Ms Tonuri, who will face court again next month, said she was shocked when she realised she was being charged.

“Especially with my mental health, I wish people could understand,” she said.

Can't get over this headline. So much retardation.

https://www.the-sun.com/news/15811640/new-writing-law-makes-americans-joined-up-cursive/

Quote:New ‘writing’ law comes into effect – and it will make over 300k Americans do joined-up writing

A NEW writing law is set to help scores of young Americans hone their ability to create joined-up letters.

It’s a lost life skill that hasn’t been taught in schools in more than 15 years after it was removed from mandatory state standards.

Talking about lost life skills and "the youth" while describing cursive as "joined up letters".
lmao

Quote:That’ll mean they will be able to sign checks, and legal documents by hand in the near future.

Mindblown

the fuck are they trying to imply? that these documents weren't legal when done in print rather than cursive?

I couldn't tell you the last time I've seen a signature where the person signs their name with "proper" cursive. Because signing on screens is so shit I don't even attempt to form any of the letters but the capital ones, I've started doing that in general just because it doesn't matter and it's faster.

I'm skeptical that anyone in the past wrote in the taught cursive anyway. You look at any old letters and it doesn't look like it.

It's a huge waste of time to teach in my opinion. If there's a supposed scourge of people unable to get drivers licenses and bank accounts just teach them to sign their name. That'll take, what, an afternoon?

Quote:“The return to including cursive instruction is especially meaningful as New Jersey celebrates the upcoming 250th anniversary of our country’s founding,” said Murphy in a press release.

“[Learning cursive will give] our students the skills they need to read our nation’s founding documents and complete tasks like opening a bank account or signing a check, in addition to offering cognitive benefits.

“We owe it to our students to give them a well-rounded education that ensures they have the tools to fully understand our rich history and become competent leaders.”
Wut Nobody's going to read the Constitution in its original form. They didn't even back in the day, they read printed versions. Dead

I leaned cursive at school. The proper cursive, not the simplified shit they tried to implement a few years after. I don't use it.
