Ree is quite literally the only forum on the internet where you’ll find a contingent of Veilguard enjoyers. They are willing to force themselves to believe anything to stick it to the chuds. It is an absolutely irredeemable game on every level that matters (with the special distinction of being what’s perhaps the worst written RPG of all time). 

I value people having differing opinions, but anyone who places Veilguard on a pedestal is doing so out of ideological loyalty/political solidarity, NOT because the game merits it.

I've played Metroid Prime for maybe 3 hours.

I'm rating it A+ 

A+ + + + + + + 
 

Also not liking muslims is valid reason to shit on a game. Valve is correct.

Art direction is phenomenal, best in the series. NPCs are okay, actually. Samus acting like a literal mute using hand gestures to talk to them instead of using her voice is ridiculous. The loss of interconnectivity between the regions (in previous games, areas connected to each other in all sorts of different ways) is a big design flaw. Going into an area and then having to come back out the same way with no alternative routes is just not how it should be in a Metroid game. Movement is good. Desert is a bit boring, but the motorcycle itself is fun. Combat is perfectly Prime-Remastered-like in a really good way. Puzzles are all pretty underwhelmingly easy,. Some music is phenomenal. Other is meh. Overall, I'm still having a blast with it, and the artists at Retro are still top-tier in the world. But the director or game designer or whoever did kinda mess up the structure. But I'm having enough fun that I still give it a 9/10 so far. The art is that good, and the gameplay is that fun to me.

I really hope this fails, just want trans people to be left alone. Every bad decision, like the crystal farming and the linear unconnected dungeons, was redeemed when Samus abandoned the NPCs to die in a brazen act of cowardice. As long as no Prime game ever mentions them again and retroactively ruins the ending.

The game plays like one that went through development hell. However, it emerged on the other side after being given time to get back on track. The flaws are still there, but they have patched up most of the issues.

ART DIRECTION IS FANTASTIC. Samus won't waste her beautiful "voice" on those losers not to mention she is wearing a helmet and is frankly half a Metroid at this point. The structure is very much like Metroid Fusion instead of having a different entrance you can "turn" the area on and explore more deeper like you wouldn't believe. MOVEMENT IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT. The bike is the most fun bike in terms of bikes. Combat is tremendous. ACED ALL THE PUZZLES. Music is so great  your head will spin please sir stop the music stop it it's too good sir stop. The artists did a fantastic job. The director was maybe not so great but after 18 years that's marginal right.

it really doesn't seem like it would be all that hard to have Metroid Fusion-like (or Dark Souls-like!) moments where you break through a wall and discover that you recognize the area you're in and you just found an incredible shortcut linking the areas you wouldn't have expected
