Absolutely love The Expanse but I feel like expecting a big payout from a Telltale Expanse game is... ambitious. It's so many levels of niche, especially given how long they've been out of the public eye for.

AA games now either need to hit or you can keep your costs way down, which doesn’t seem possible in North America or large parts of Western Europe. There is little wiggle room for beloved niche franchises. There is also a massive devaluation of such games whether due to subscriptions, humble bundle or services giving games away for free.

It also launched in the Epic Games Store and many people didn’t even know it already released. I bet some people didn’t even know that TellTale was still around.

There's a scene with a pedophile. What you need to do to progress the story is go inside his dark trailer and make an ink copy of his genitalia for a stupid Rorschach test joke. The humour is tried to be achieved by the main character Rufus being oblivious to the situation, but it comes off more as a trivialization of this serious topic.

A black woman is tricked by the main character to replace a black man in his former job as dancing like a monkey. It's even a joke inside the game that she wants you to bail her out as you promised, but you never to. The racist component is pretty obvious.

In this day and age, you supposedly got a grossly transphobic ultra-high profile game selling millions and the dev being unapologetic about it, and yet this isn't reported on at all?
