The “sex work is real work” thing is always odd phrasing when the top .000001% of the industries, upon leaving, immediately talk about how terrible and exploitative it was. The regrets and wanting their work scrubbed off the internet. It also doesn’t make a lot of sense when raging about capitalism would go hand in hand with people making desperate choices for money. How isn’t “gay for pay” the height of capitalism? To that end, I think de-stigmatizing it is worthwhile. But glamorizing it to feed more vulnerable women into the industry? what’s the end goal?

To assuage their guilt over consuming it? And perhaps, worse, for enjoying it.

Thankfully the younger socially conscious generation side steps this ethical minefield by jacking it to Minecraft and Overwatch smut.

Steam started out as a shit service forced on us because of the orange box. But they kept adding features and steam sales and coal and it really did become a great thing with a real community around it like on neogaf, but not on it.

Then they added all the social features, the gambling to kids, and allowed all the toxic things to fester and that is where we are today. Steam is right now an absolute embarassment to PC gaming.

1. Steam was forced on us with Half-Life 2.
2. The social features were there from the very start, as that was the point.

What? It has stuff that other RPGs have. It has leveling. It has stat distribution. It has weapons with their own stats and abilities. What reasons would people say it isn't an RPG?

I'd guess because it doesn't have dialog choices and impacts on the story (outside of the ending).

Essentially, there's two "sides" that can be seen for a RPG, there is the pure combat mechanics side (levelling, loot, talent trees, etc), and then there is the roleplay side. You have some people that will consider that a game without roleplay options isn't a "true" RPG but rather an adventure or tactical game with RPG mechanics. Wich isn't exactly wrong either, as you end up with theses kind of mechanics on pretty much everything imaginable theses days.

It's all a question of point of view and what people prefer.

And yeah, while i love E33, i would have given the Best RPG award to KCD2 because KCD2 has "more" aspects of what can constitute an RPG (even if Vavra is a cunt).

One problem with Animal Farm is that it's simply not much of a very compelling story. It's literally just an allegory of the actual Soviet history, and actual Soviet history is just a bunch of mass murder, deliberate poverty/famines and social jockeying among losers.

This is where I'm at. They are at least using the words, so if it can get the idea across of socialist revolution being corrupted by opportunists betraying the values of the movement for personal gain and totalitarian control in a way that is digestible for children, I don't see harm in this.

Introducing human subterfuge into the plot goes against the main idea of the book that all revolutionary structures succumb under their own weight due to factional infighting. I guess you can make it a story about counterrevolution menaces, but I don't know if I gel with that vibe.

Orwell knew about the Soviets unlike you guys. There was no "corruption" or "factional infighting" that doomed it to totalitarianism. Animal Farm literally has no factional infighting in it, they just purge Snowball.

edit: Also Snowball is Trotsky, one of the most violent of the totalitarians.

I watched that trailer then read the Serkis response to the interview question and just knew once those retards cottoned on to the fact that it was now a critique of capitalism, their opinions would immediately change.

Lol…some of you don't really know what a bad movie in a theater actually is.
