I have a strong suspicion that trans people are the loudest crowd whenever some female character is not the main character because they believe that playing a videogame woman is somehow hecking validation. (And if you play female characters in RPGs you're an egg, let's not forget that one)

Meanwhile real women seem much more chill about it. Not saying that they don't want female characters but they don't lose their mind if the series happens to switch characters around. Yep this is pretty much it. A lot of my female friends have been gamers since childhood and they couldn't be further from the crazies in that Era thread. They fucking love Arthur Morgan, Ezio, Link, Gerald, Bayek, Joel, Leon etc. and some of the stuff they say about female protagonists they don't like would get them permabanned from Era  One of them immediately couldn't stand Grace when they saw the first RE9 trailer and was so glad Leon was revealed as playable.

What? It has stuff that other RPGs have. It has leveling. It has stat distribution. It has weapons with their own stats and abilities. What reasons would people say it isn't an RPG?

I'd guess because it doesn't have dialog choices and impacts on the story (outside of the ending).

Essentially, there's two "sides" that can be seen for a RPG, there is the pure combat mechanics side (levelling, loot, talent trees, etc), and then there is the roleplay side. You have some people that will consider that a game without roleplay options isn't a "true" RPG but rather an adventure or tactical game with RPG mechanics. Wich isn't exactly wrong either, as you end up with theses kind of mechanics on pretty much everything imaginable theses days.

It's all a question of point of view and what people prefer.

And yeah, while i love E33, i would have given the Best RPG award to KCD2 because KCD2 has "more" aspects of what can constitute an RPG (even if Vavra is a cunt).

I've been on disability since 2017. I've done my best to pay every bill on time and my health was doing well for a while. I made the bad decision to start using credit cards to build my credit score, but it was fine for a while. I paid everything down and there was no concern of interest ever catching up to me. Then came the urgent need for a wisdom tooth removal. Nobody would help me with my medicaid. I called people for hours every single day and the pain was so insane that I couldn't function. I'm pretty sure I was on the verge of death. My wisdom tooth was so bad that it was puncturing the tooth next to it in the process of growing out and damaging the nerves around it. I had to see an oral surgeon which was more expensive by far and I paid out of pocket. I did get some help with the cost, but in the end it cost me $3600+ and so my debt began.



Unfortunately I had to get more dental work done after that, which cost me over $1500, then I had to take on other costs after that and it spiraled until I didn't need to spend money anymore. Now I'm $10,000 in debt while surviving on a fixed income accruing interest costs so high that I can't do more than pay the minimum on every card each month while trying to pay my monthly bills. I've tried to get a consolidation loan, but nobody will take me because I don't have any valuable collateral. I also went from a great credit score to a pretty bad one because of all the full credit cards. I get letters from credit card consolidation companies all the time now and when I try to fuck with any of them they won't fuck with me. It's... brutal. If I didn't have the interest destroying me I could just pay it all down over the next three years.



I don't really know if there's anything I can do in this situation. I'm just surviving while looking at all the interest devouring my money every month.

They really did think they had the numbers and the juice to hurt this game. That they've stuck with the losing strat of pretending it's SKO interactive Mein Kampf is kinda sad. In a game with LGBT characters and the ability to roll one in as the MC in an RPG, the opportunity to signal boost a positive message was right there. 

Instead, just like every other huge media phenomenon the preferred strategy seems to be (once enough eyeballs are on a given thing) to throw yourself on the pavement next to said thing and scream how it's killing you as you physically writhe in agony. Anyone who doesn't immediately halt everything and fight in your stead is a Nazi. For some reason, this didn't yield favorable results.
