It might take a couple of decades but look at the long term effects 9/11 have had on the US, you could argue it's still in the process of falling apart as a response.

It's kinda impressive how you fail to acknowledge the genocide and utter humiliating circumstances that the state of Israel has setup for Palestine. Outside of the daily murder of civilians and children, they are plenty busy destroying water wells, denying basic services like ambulances and firetrucks, the giant prison walls, the theft of land and homes, the state sponsored settler violence, the segregation and monitoring of their people. And yet you somehow circle around and make it about Iran. Way to deny Israel's culpability in everything that's manifested so far. It's no coincidence that this is happening under Israel's most extreme and right wing government, so extreme that even the Americans themselves are in an awkward position to rebuff some of the recent actions of Israel. There is such a clear power differential of oppressor and those being subjugated to it, that even if you bring up examples of Palestinian violence, its so disproportionate. The world has long been silent on what has been happening in this part of the world and somehow we hold Hamas to a far, far, far higher standard than what was ever asked of the Israelis.
