I'm genuinely curious what people on here think about this? I can't be the only one that finds it weird and confusing how no one talks about the world basically funding a Brigade linked to far-right neo nazis. Just to make it clear, I'm not some kind of Russia or Putin supporter; I just find this weird and confusing.

The thing is stickies can help initially but eventually they just blend into the background and people stop noticing or paying attention to the threads. It's been stickied for roughly eight months. We're still going to be adding the reply banners to threads on Xbox announcements and games and whatnot, nothing has changed there. Unsticking the thread doesn't change that. We aren't locking it, we aren't throwing it in the vault where no one can post in it, it's just time is all.

It's just, anyone can see the thread isn't as active as it was, we've hit the point of diminishing returns on how effective the sticky is, and there's other threads that could benefit from a temporary sticky.

I get this reasoning, but why wasn't this communicated initially when it was first unstickied? The reaction was predictable.

The reaction is 100% justified. We dropped the ball on that, and for that I personally apologize. But you've got my word that I'm not going to let this be silenced. I've been a part of this fight from the beginning and I'm going to make damn sure it's not quieted or swept under the rug.

If sticking a thread kills the discussion, why sticky any of them? Is it killing the GOTY voting discussion in the currently stickied threads? Are those topics more important than Microsoft directly aiding on ongoing genocide?

Will this thread get closed if people try to bump it without a new article or link? Will those replies receive warnings? It seems like this thread could easily be forgotten.

I can see that this is a very difficult subject for this forum. People take any criticism of Azov as an attack on Ukraine and get hyper defensive and start hurling accusations and insults at the poster rather than engage with the issue itself. Nazis are either a small part of the Ukrainian army that can be easily removed or they aren't.

As for why we should care, our tax dollars are funding a group that hates us non-white people and has trained American and European white nationalists to come back and harm us.

The solution is for donor countries to force Ukraine to remove Azov. That's it. No one is calling for the abandonment of Ukraine here. And no, this doesn't need to wait until the war ends. Based on what people have said in this thread Azov is a very small part of the army.

On the first, it is blatant racism from a person who is literally a neo-nazi, on another it is literally coming from an actual Russian propaganda account that is trying to justify the ethnic cleansing of an entire people. However, just because of where it came from does not mean we should dismiss the actual racism, and pretend that it is not incredibly bigoted and hurtful.
