I was under the impression that constant data access on MicroSD can be dangerous for hardware due to the amount of heat it can generate. It's good for storing things and archiving them but if you're constantly accessing that data it can damage the actual MicroSD port and the handheld itself.

This is something that was talked about a lot when the Steam Deck was still new, I don't know if it still applies or not.
