I think it's important to remember that the Socratic Method and how Plato writes his mentor should not necessarily be conflated. Especially considering Plato's own "logic" in his own works.

I looked at the replies and while people were taking issue with this joke, nobody seemed to point out that "leftist discourse" isn't about asking questions about assertions. It's about making fundamental assertions and refusing to allow them to be questioned. Hence why being accused of "just asking questions" is supposed to be the kill shot.
