That's not how you handle actually illegal content on a forum Yeah, the FBI is going to see the banned message and not require MOBA to turn over the records to help hunt down these federal crimes. This is what B-Dubs expects his members to believe.

They sympathize with his reasons (because cults are not exactly well regarded there) but I seriously doubt they agree with him killing Shinzo Abe
In that regard, why the political class would even think of letting go. Those changes were necessary for his party to survive the scandal, not because they are happy that some dude killed a high ranking member and the public actually pay attention to the claims of corruption.

This is not a comic book film. Be glad that there was an actual change, even if little, but don’t think this is the correct way to do it.

Despite this obvious fact you all continue to go back to it as a solution to anything and everything.
(01-21-2026, 07:08 PM)Boredfrom wrote: You are joking but imagine a forum where every thread devolves in me and uncle fighting. But that's not the situation at all. AI threads are distinguished by AI related thread titles, as such, any member that wished to avoid the discussion can do so. Under the alternative system groupthink is mandatory and under our system this thread (which is not about AI) becomes the battleground.
Our problem is distinct because it is about a lack of quantitative discussion. We mostly shoot the shit about a broad form of topic. "Debating AI" is really too specific of a topic for The Bire. This is why Jansen's concern about spinning off the Bluesky beggars was warranted but I reasoned that was broad enough to fit. We have an AI slop thread, that's expanded to be more general about AI, but nobody's going to bust into it to debate AI. They could though and it would be both reasonable and acceptable and cause no harm to any discussion there or elsewhere on the forum.
Era's problem is a lack of qualitative discussion. Their users are simply incapable of having the discussion at all. And further, a large portion of their users are not capable of knowing that others are having the discussion. It's a manageable problem, you simply allow the threads and dare the cult to destroy all the threads. They will tire or people will talk around them, eventually ending the problem. Era doesn't allow this form of enforcement, instead the cult (or occasionally, like with Amber Heard, the other side) demands the staff enforce their view. And that staff believe their job is to do so. So any AI or Harry Potter (or etc.) thread creates a problem in which the cult needs to enforce their views by fiat and the staff believes they need to as well. We know my proposal works on their forum because look at how their efforts against Activision/Microsoft/Stellar Blade/etc. have achieved literally nothing. The staff doesn't enforce those views so the Discord mobs are powerless to leverage them against the discussion. Sure, the constant "FUCK MICROSOFT" signaling or similar is annoying, but if people actually want to discuss the topic this falls apart quickly.
Era's goal is to not have the discussion at all because a select group on the forum does not want any views but their own allowed and cannot handle having their views even questioned in any form. They aren't worried that the problem will be too much discussion but any discussion they can't control.

It was due then based on information available previously. But it was still TRASH, so they cancelled it earlier without announcing it. Then included it for this fiscal announcement as one of the many things they had dumped since, especially if it was expected to release and provide revenue. It was probably "completed" in the sense of it only needed a few more weeks of development in line with the planned release date but after they decided to can it, they never did any of that. Or when the milestone came around they realized it was going to need more time, yet another delay, but they decided to dump it so didn't bother to update the release date stuff because the new date was FUCKING NEVER.
Literally happens all the time.

Quote:Against this backdrop, today's announcement introduces a radically new value-creation model: a more gamer-centric organization, structured around creative genres, relying on integrated business units with faster, decentralized decision-making and a greater ability to quickly adapt to players' expectations. This transformation will be supported by a rightsized and more agile organization, delivering improved structural efficiencies over time.
The new operating model will further empower the execution of the Group's strategy, centered on Open World Adventures and GaaS-native experiences, supported by targeted investments, deeper specialization, and cutting-edge technology, including accelerated investments behind player-facing Generative AI. He couldn't quote the actual part of the statement related to the cancellations because it ran against his claim:
Quote:Ubisoft has discontinued 6 games that do not meet the new enhanced quality as well as more selective portfolio prioritization criteria at Group level. These include Prince of Persia The Sands of Time remake as well as 4 unannounced titles, including 3 new IP’s, and a mobile title.
In parallel, the Group will allocate additional development time to 7 games in order to ensure enhanced quality benchmarks are fully met and maximize long-term value creation. This includes the unannounced title initially planned for FY26, that has been delayed to FY27.
Why would they give more development time to even more titles, including reducing the years revenue, if the goal was to become a slophouse? (Not to mention dumping a mobile title, the most likely candidate for slop and AI production.)
It's also fucking hilarious to frame this as "Ubisoft wants to become a live service slophouse" as that thread does when the company has dumped more live service products in the last few years, including ones that released, than any human can remember. You're saying Ubisoft hasn't been a slophouse?

“Ubisoft is becoming an AI slophouse”
Their games already feel completely AI generated, so why would anyone genuinely interested in video games care that they’re using actual AI now?

There shouldn't be because it wasn't. Ubisoft already massively invested in AI. The layoffs and project closures were because those things were losing money and the company has been a sprawling mess for years. If they weren't able to tell people that AI would save costs going forward they would have had to dump much more.

While this is the best result that don’t involve violence and public humiliation, I must admit that didn’t expect another TACO so soon. Or that NATO dude is a genius manipulator ( ) or some of the butt kissers decided it was too much.
