Do you ever listen to the Scatman lyrics. I mean, really listen.
“I hear you all ask 'bout the meaning of scat. Well, I'm the professor and all I can tell you is while you're still sleeping, the saints are still weeping 'cause things you call dead haven't yet had the chance to be born. I'm the Scatman.”

35f - flu this weekend, hope she is better soon.
33f - busy with work all week, would be fun to meet later both pending for now but we have 5 new likes/matches. my new pic slays. I'm also done with my reflection and soul searching. In conclusion I'm no longer limiting myself to act by the rules, values and standards others have already abandoned. No more free elevator rides to get to my level nor will I string people along who can't keep up. If women choose to connect I won't focus on LTR just because they have that label. In fact they're not honest about their intentions anyway. They just want to pretend they're a better catch while hiding serious problems. Out of an outdated idea of respect and trust I didn't want to start anything that couldn't work and only aimed for casual if that was her clear intent (like the rugby player). Once again playing by rules no one else respects but I've stopped doing that. My intention isn't hidden my profile says casual + LTR. As a result my chats are lighter, warmer and much more welcoming and understanding but the stakes much lower. The relationship is my decision to make not theirs and most of the time they can't offer that anyway so why worry about that outcome. I will no longer play the game that it is a 50/50 coin flip based on how they feel after the first date or work towards that as the goal of the date. 1 user liked this post: who is ted danson?

That feeling when you hire a workman and you can tell by his confused swearing you’re going to have to hire someone else to fix whatever he’s about to fuck up.

Doing a little wine tasting
![]() Europe maxxing Done with my "boss" and the children at the office though. I'm going to explore and talk with some like minded people. See what type of offers I get or start my own consultancy firm. Maybe both.

There we go 1 of them is game for tommorow but you never know until they actually show up.
The other one is visiting her folks wants to meet when she returns. Another one crashed out. She wanted to do a video call. Suggested 8pm on Friday but she already had plans. Wanted a call during lunchbreak. Suggested 2pm, never got a confirmation. Realized I couldn't make it texted out of courtesy to reschedule or leave it, up to her. Hit me with a HR lady text how she was also career driven but felt she was just another item on my calendar and maybe this wasn't the right time blah blah blah. The 4 or 5 that I'm most interested in from this weeks haul still in play. Among those a frontrunner.

I thought the black people smoke alarm thing was just a dumb myth. This morning I got called out to replace wiring in some guy's house. I noticed the alarm in his living room was going off every minute while the family were sat on the couch under it. So I asked them how long it had been like that and got blank stares. I says, you know your alarm's going off right? They had no idea what I was on about. Weird as fuck.

A friend/acquaintance is visiting Tokyo and asking me to look over their itinerary for advice. What’s immediately noticeable is how rich these people are. Talking $1000 a night hotels for longer than a week. Taking personal drivers to go everywhere. The fanciest restaurants for every meal. And it’s all so structured to the half-hour.
I’m editing the document to sneak in “visit Akihabara and buy an RTX 5090 as gift”.

I always imagined you’d need about £10k to do a couple of weeks in Japan properly.

I’d reckon far less, even back when the yen was stronger. Accommodations, transport, and food are all relatively inexpensive and accessible.

It is known here as a very busy and expensive tourist spot also. But I think that has more to do with the demand and the flights than the local prices.
By far the most popular destination these days.

It’s pretty amazing how localized tourism is. They’re overcrowded hell spots but easy to avoid. Mentioned on one of the bores how in Kamakura, the police whack tourists with batons because they’re running on train tracks to take photos. That was last year and it’s gotten weirder. They’ve rolled out people in lycra suits wearing trash can backpacks to curb litter. It isn’t helping.

Well a chick asked me out for drinks on thursday, that's a new one.
Asked beer wine or cocktails. I said she forgot about the champagne but for now beer, wine or cocktails will do. She's going to pick a place and everything. We'll see if she follows through on it all.
thinking about creating new bad vibes thread

do Japanese people get quietly annoyed if it becomes apparent that a tourist has escaped the tourist areas and is gawking at normal stuff and eating at a non-tourist restaurant because they wanted a "real, authentic experience"
