As many in the replies point out, this really seems to prove how it's a small group of people who cause so much shit for all the rest and just a small barrier can already keep them out. These reductions are insane.

One thing I never see people grapple with is that when a service no longer excludes by pricing it by its very nature must exclude by other things then. Often things that are even less acceptable than excluding by price but progressive/socialist/etc. systems can't utilize pricing as a proxy so must turn to these despite their being far less progressive than price. Accusations of racism or whatever other crimes against the marginalized then follow despite the government being more progressive and so they are no longer "true progressives" and the system needs even less barriers to access and so on in a neverending spiral towards utopia.

You see this all the time with "free" services and not just from progressives, but otherwise intelligent people, instead an instant assumption that if you stop pricing at the point of service or near it that it disappears entirely and everything tied to it and its necessity for the direction of resources will go away too. "Free" buses, "free" health care, "free" education, "free" social media, etc. As long as we don't sinfully openly price things, it's unbound from the constraints of reality, of scarcity, etc. Magical thinking about the suppression of information.

Why I Am Writing 🧿
I am a Black woman living with disabilities. I am also an empath, a seer, a budding/reluctant guide to myself and others in healing (huge responsibility), and a writer/activist. Dr. Rocio Rosales Meza harmed me, and she is refusing to take accountability for the impact of her actions. I was a member of the Decolonial Healing Collective (DHC) facilitated by Rocio, a non-Black Latinx woman and self-proclaimed healer who has a Ph.d. in Counseling Psychology (but no clinical experience or license). I was first introduced to her through pithy quotes on decolonizing one’s mind on Instagram.

But all that glitters ain’t gold. Her insidious response to my vulnerability shook me to the core. I’m not one to express publicly that someone hurt me, but I realize that speaking my truth returns my power back to me. And speaking my truth is a part of my healing journey. I did not deserve to be the recipient of anti-Blackness and misogynoir. I did not deserve to be discarded. I did not deserve to be maliciously disconnected from community.

This woman is not deserving nor is she qualified to be a guide to me in my healing journey or for anyone. I trusted her, and her hurtful actions were a deliberate attempt to disempower me, silence me, and isolate me. I say attempt because like the loving words of my elder Lucille Clifton, I celebrate everyday that something has tried to kill me, erase me, scare me, make me feel unworthy, abuse me, exploit me and has failed. PERIOD.

What Rocio doesn’t understand is that I stand on the shoulders of my ancestors (that include both Black and Muscogee/Creek ancestry), and that I am cared for by the Mother of Nine (Oya). I am standing in my power, seeking accountability for her actions. I want to prevent her from harming other people in DHC, especially Black women, femmes, and Black non-binary folks through her offerings.

I am remaining anonymous and leaning on the help of my community to facilitate the rest of the call out (note: I did try calling-in first) because I am fearful of retaliation. Rocio has an incredible amount of positional power and privilege over me. She has nearly 45K followers on Instagram. With her influence (and propensity for manipulation and maliciousness), she could lead those individuals to harass, dox, or swat me and my loved ones. I am simply providing context here so the broader community can hold her accountable for harming a Black woman.

Update: Rocio and her cronies reported my post, and I am no longer able post “private” conversations here from my texts/emails. I am consulting with journalists from several publications to explore how to get this information out there and prevent more people from getting sucked into Rocio’s cult-like behavior. Since posting this, I have learned that I am not the only person she has harmed. Her harms dates back to at least 2013. These stories are not mine to share on this page, but I need folks to understand this is not an isolated incident.

Restitution: How I Would Like This Harm Repaired
Rocio, this is how you can repair the harm you’ve caused:

1. I would like a formal and public apology acknowledging the full harm you’ve done to me and the broader DHC community. I would also like you to communicate steps you will take to make sure this type of behavior doesn’t happen again.
   
2. Honor any other requests for repair/restitution from other members of the DHC who have experienced harm. I was not the only one harmed here. You also harmed women that share your identity with your behavior. You harmed women in the space who have disabilities. You made DHC a hostile place for all.
   
3. Dismantle DHC and issue refunds to all who seek it. You are not operating from a place of integrity, kindness, empathy, or compassion. You are operating from a place of toxic positivity, spiritual bypassing, and settler-colonist oppression. It is clear that you cannot be trusted with any healing journey until you sort out your own issues. If this is left unchecked, your harm could go much further than what you did to me.
   
4. Take tangible, measurable, verifiable steps to address your internalized anti-Blackness and misogynoir. If you enlist the help of Black women with this, PAY THEM FOR THEIR FUCKING LABOR. You don’t deserve anything free from us anymore. Also, don’t blame your toxic behavior toward Black women on phantom white women. You are accountable for the impact of your actions. PERIOD.
   
5. Build your capacity to hold space for ALL WOMEN, FEMMES, AND GENDER NON-CONFORMING PEOPLE — especially Black women, Black femmes, and Black non-binary folks — before you start another cohort of DHC. You do not have the praxis or theoretical grounding to be leading or teaching anything about decolonial embodiment or abolition. It seems your learnings only come from Black women’s Instagram posts and IG lives, but that is not enough to support folks in decolonial healing and all the ways they show up in that process.
   
6. Stop posting the work and creativity of Black women to bolster your own image. On mamas, you need to come up with your own shit. If you got it like that in your own practice and if you are as decolonial as you claim you are, creating your own ideas should be easy, right?
   
7. Listen to spirit more carefully. Did spirit call you to this or your ego? Maybe get help from another seer to discern the messages you’re receiving? There’s no way you could have spoken to my ancestors in the DHC application process because surely they would have let you know to come correct or kindly gtfo. They don’t play (not even with me, and I’m their baby), and I don’t play when it comes to my healing. This isn’t just an expression of my anger. They mad AF too.
   
   

If you’re able to make verifiable progress with the above, and if spirit (not your ego) tells you to start DHC again, you should also do the following to repair the harm others in DHC experienced:

1. Secure funding/sponsorship for DHC so that participants do not need to pay. There are so many amazing healers, (real) teachers, and (actual decolonial) healing spaces who have managed to do this because they care deeply about accessibility to wellness for BIPOC folks. You should figure out how to do the same.
   
2. Take group facilitation training to optimize the time you spend with DHC cohorts.
   
3. Decrease the size of the DHC cohort so you aren’t overwhelmed as a facilitator, and so you can provide the proper structure/container needed for a healing space. Hire moderators/assistants to help you (and PAY THEM. NO FREE LABOR). You do not have the capacity to hold space for 200 people. I heard from folks in DHC that you’ve been adding even more people into the collective recently. Seriously? What is your end game? Are people getting what they paid for?
   
4. Implement accessibility in your offerings for DHC. For instance, schedule breaks during long zoom calls. I mentioned in one post above that folks with certain disabilities struggle with zoom. It is odd to me that someone who publicly mentions having a disability all the time isn’t interested in providing accessibility in a healing space for other folks with disabilities.
   
5. Allow people to build community and communicate with each other from day 1 in DHC. If you engage people in the co-creation of community agreements, you will have a greater likelihood of resolving/managing conflict as facilitator productively (or at least that’s been my experience from many years of being a group facilitator). It feels gross and unnecessary that you were adamant about DHC participants not speaking to each other at all, even though there were community agreements in place. You designed isolation into your program (for people in the middle of a pandemic), and that’s not ok.
   
6. Be more transparent about the distance energy healing you’re doing. What lineage does it come from? What exactly are you doing? For all we know you’re sitting at home eating bonbons talking about “you all are about to receive a massive healing.” People are trusting you, and because you have shown you’re potentially not trustworthy, you’ll need to do extra work around transparency.
   

I Need Your Active Support in Holding Dr. Rocio Rozales Meza Accountable for This Harm
Rocio is a coward who dodges accountability and is invested in settler-colonial practices despite using the language of abolition/decolonization. I need your help getting repair and restitution from this woman for her actions. Protect Black women and femmes!

One of the "tells" of those educated idiots I mentioned a bit ago, and Dr. Meza is one, is often the way they talk about quantum physics. They've only heard about Schrodinger's Cat and extrapolate from there to confirm their stupid social science ideas based on believing that the observer effect requires a sentient being and thus places all of reality in the hands of individuals to determine. This is taken as "proof" that their dumbass shit is scientifically proven. This was the original critique from Sokal and it's still all over social science work. Cite "science" with something like "the observer effect is proof that awareness effects systems" and then "confirm" your stupidity "which proves that me tweeting all day is the highest form of anti-capitalist action." (The Sokal original was them taking a misunderstanding of physics as proof that all of science is just political violence forcing others to determine what's "true" in science absent of anything but the political violence.)

More humorously, the Before Watchmen comic for Dr. Manhattan has Dr. Manhattan making this error despite being the world's greatest physicist who then literally merges with reality.  The rest of it is premised around how him observing events must be changing them, dumbass JMS like most "understanders" never took the time to ask why none of the other characters observing the same events wouldn't do this against his will. This is typically the answer most of these people, especially self-proclaimed "progressives", come up with, that reality is determined by the greater will.
