I left a negative review on Steam while I wait on my refund and I'm getting bombarded with hateful messages calling me a "nasty fat pussy" among other things.

If you want to really fix the problem and not pour useful energy down the drain on something like video games, get off Era and go apply to join an anti-racist organization.

If the game Nepenthe is implying people are white supremacists for not purchasing had been purchased by said anti-racists, it would have more than 26 people playing it on on steam release.  So either people aren't racist for not finding it appealing or everyone is racist and joining that organization is a waste of time.  But as usual, the answer to every question is: ORGANIZE.

having these artifacts in global hubs like Paris/London/brussels etc ensures they receive maximum international visibility, the best professional preservation, and the chance to be studied by a diverse, global audience that might not otherwise have the resources to travel to various African nations.  Although...the people of that culture should have the right to their own determination of their own cultural narrative if enough of those artifacts represent the bulk of their cultural artistic output, so not sure actually...All I know is, you're not racist for not finding a video game unappealing.

But she's right.  If we want to get Steam users to stop making fun of that game we need to start attending council meetings and setting up mutual aid networks.  Just today, at the grocery store, a pineapple was rung up as ten instead of one and I paid $50!  I began a weekly neighborhood meeting to discuss the elimination of capitalism so that other people don't go through this.

What I find interesting about the relooted game is that it's apparently made by actual Africans but still has a whole lot of typical western diversity markers, like disabilities, trans character, LGBT support etc. 

Not saying that Africans in Johannesburg can't have those beliefs but curious how it squares up so directly with western devs that I wonder what makes this culturally unique. Supposedly sweet baby Inc worked on this game so maybe they ironed all that culture into standard fare

Btw. The "review bombing" has now amounted to a staggering 23 negative reviews and the game is marked as "very positive" on Steam.

Just to add, spiderman has been a huge part of my life. I took my first crush to see spiderman 2 so this means everything to me (there's been very little else sadly). The only thing missing is a passive-aggressive mod quote at the bottom saying "Let's keep this civil, folks" or someone replying "This ain't it, chief" followed by seventeen crying laughing emojis.
You could push it further with a "I'm literally shaking right now" or perhaps a lengthy disclaimer about how they're not saying the other thing is good, just that the priorities are wrong, followed by a detailed ranking of which issues deserve attention in what order.

They are both the most popular characters of the franchise right now now, and I think they have eclipsed others mainstays like Lei Fang. As much as Koei Tecmo has been weird about DoA, they are not going to eliminate two of their most popular characters.
