The thing that is maybe the most mind-boggling for me are the arguments for preserving "artistic intent" or like the sex scenes had some kind of deep meaning to the original character. Please, it's a remake, chances are they're gonna make tons of changes to the game design, levels, visuals, etc... but no, this is the thing that you think is most important to preserve? These lame throwaway scenes of blatant sexism are so important to the character, story and gameplay? Really?

It's not like the original games don't still exist or are hard to play these days, they can go experience them "as David Jaffe intended" if they really want. This is just disingenuous manchildren upset that their toys might be taken away and trying to backwards justify their own ideas about women not having any value outside of being sex objects and trophies for a man to demonstrate his power over.

The problem is that there is too much idealization tied to Kratos. In story, the women he sleeps with are supposed to be his attempts to escape his madness and sorrow. They're not there because Kratos genuinely even wants to sleep around as something he likes doing, they're coping mechanisms. Same thing with his drinking. That's what we're constantly told by the narration anyway.



But obviously, they were not going to show Kratos not actually his threesomes any more than they were going show Kratos being a sad drunk ridden with PSTD. His trauma can only be shown as manly, justified anger.



If they do include the sex minigames, they are probably going to take some measures to make them more 'respectful' (further sanitizing kratos' character as they've done whenever they've fleshed out his past in 2018 and Ragnarok).



Also, one thing that I always felt could be a headcanon way of interpreting the women's enthusiasm is because they're badshit scared of him, so they act very lustful and praise him for doing such a good job at sex because they're afraid what he'd do to them if they indicated he was inadequate. That doesn't really work, but I felt that was always more plausible than them literally not caring that he randomly kills people for no reason, but liking him anyway just because he's just that good of a fuck.
