It's really blatant, and people saying "oh so you're ACCUSING the devs of DELIBERATELY pandering to these crowds???" as if unconscious bias isn't a thing and we don't live in a patriarchal society lol Yes I do think we should be talking about all the unconscious bias that go into design choices, actually! Why is she designed like a beauty pageant contestant? Why is this npc we're supposed to want to protect a little girl and not a boy? Why does the camera linger on her features before she shows her drawing at the end of the demo? What emotion is it supposed to be evoke from the viewer and why?

I don't even know why it's so unreasonable to question whether Capcom was actively trying to pander to this particular demographic? Like, are we acting like no video game has EVER done that before? Maybe the artist themself isn't a pedo, maybe no one involved is a pedo, there is no way to know and I'm not accusing anyone because I don't even know these people, but I think it's very possible that someone at some point said "hey, we have this concept for a game where you have to escort a little girl, try to make her attractive so we can get some pedobucks in addition to the revenue from normal people who'd be interested in the game anyway". Are we trying to act like that isn't happening all the time? Making appealing characters is how a lot of devs sell games these days (it's what the entire gacha industry is predicated upon), Capcom themselves explicitly said that they tried to make Leon more appealing to women in recent games (do you think they did that out of the kindness of their hearts, or because games like LADS have shown that women are willing to pay big bucks for hot men?), why are we acting like it's crazy to think that they might have also made a conscious choice to pander to a certain demographic that, to an amoral multi million dollar company (which is what Capcom is, even if they're your favorite game dev), is just a source of revenue as valid as any other? Especially in an industry that already has a history of pandering to lolicons?

So for Capcom it goes far beyond reference. They literally scan body and face models in costume. So yea it's not an artist going "ok we need to give her hips/an hourglass figure." You can even look up the artist's Twitter. He doesn't sexualize kids on the down low , (and he does sexualize adult women) and always draws younger people with different proportions. Hes also done nothing involving a Yoko Taro aka reposting lewd shit about his own character.

I refuse to believe, for my own sanity, that this means that you're saying that they scanned a real child and she had hips, so are you saying that they scanned a real child's face, scanned an adult woman's body, put this child's face on that woman's body, and that is a choice that sounds normal to you, especially coming from an artist that, according to you, "does sexualize adult women"? Is this genuinely an argument that you're trying to make? Is defending your favorite toy company worth having this insane fucking statement tied to your username forever?
