Syrians are lazy bums tbh. It's like sand russians

Average Syrian refugee is unemployed, boasting how he was a business man in Syria. His wife does everything and the kids are the helpers. He just sits around smoking sisha and watching netflix with his friends.

They don't use garbage bins or recycle anything. They just dump their trash in the garden until rats show up.

The interior decoration is awful. They have zero sense of style and aesthetics. They are muslim so occasionally they pray and chant loud as if crying but don't really hold themselves to their religion.

Parenting is non-existent. They send the kids outside to "play".

I'm not surprised Assad and their army didn't lift a finger because none of them do.

They know it's unpopular but they can't delay it because it's part of an overall tax reform. So the idea is they pass it now and change it later but as usual it likely won't get changed and we'll be stuck with it. Which is why I'm focusing on a bigger paycheck before this hits.

A lot of people especially older with assets might actually move because of this but if they do that means less competition for those that stay.

I'm against this from a "more government control" perspective but if all the wealth and housing remains in the hands of those 50 and older it'll remain untapped capital for 20 - 30 years as they live longer. There is people that live in social housing and own 5 houses they put up for rent for their income.

Up to 60k of capital is tax free or ~110k if you have a fiscal partner.

But here is the catch. Most people don't have 60k in capital or stock if you remove the home equity and the 1st house and retirement savings are excluded.

We have to be realistic about the economy though, we have a huge pile of capital and savings not put to use for anything. While SMEs are struggling, the US no longer hands out free money and China and India compete with us as AI removes the language barrier.

"I'm against this from a 'more government control' perspective but damn I'd really like to have somebody take people's assets and waste them on whatever."

Love how you say "we have to be realistic about the economy" in the middle of bitching about "untapped capital" which isn't a thing. It's not untapped, four times it is loaned out by banks by using it as their reserve figure.

What you're actually complaining about is that interest rates aren't negative so the capital gets "invested" aka immediately has its value spent on nothing because that's better than losing value so GDP goes up to benefit the sitting government in the short term and those like MOBA Network. You know, that thing all the governments did for like a decade until recently to spectacular value. It's just a refresh of the nonsense Keynesian mindset that the path to utopia is forcing consumption of any kind by any means necessary.

Nobody "hoards" capital anymore, it's not a thing people do, especially not regular ass old people. You're just justifying taking from people because you imagine their being forced to spend will be good for you. You're willing to destroy value and capital on the presumption that there's no reason for anyone to have it based on an equation that literally doesn't view capital as having any value unless its being consumed. Fuel for the "line go up drrrr" morons on the left.

Means test the social housing. Don't tax the value of assets that may be worth nothing the next day.

I don't see the problem, just tell the government you've had a good think about and you HAVE actually realized that those are gains, and tomorrow if they go down you will realize they are losses

Socialism with Chinese characteristics...

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-02-18/hungrypanda-riders-chinese-police-threats-sydney-australia/106353996

Quote:Riders embroiled in a dispute over pay and conditions with food delivery company HungryPanda in Sydney say Chinese police have summoned family members back home and even threatened to have them arrested upon return as part of a pressure campaign to stop them protesting.

The development has raised concerns about foreign interference in the protracted tussle between HungryPanda and some of its riders, who say pay cuts and a lack of transparency in the app's algorithm have pushed them to the brink.

Earlier this month, multiple Sydney-based HungryPanda riders in a group chat on the Chinese social media app WeChat began discussing plans to hold a protest or refuse to work during the Lunar New Year period, which often brings a surge in activity and orders on HungryPanda.
