I wouldn't say more cynical I would say more grounded.
Romance can exist but not as a novel or fantasy. The latina last year just ticked so many boxes that confirmation bias took over. Do I hope to find such Romance, yes. But fumbling date after date because it doesn't tick all the boxes, the girl hasn't seen Nolan movies or the sunset is covered by clouds or whatever won't get me there. But everyone agreed with me that what happened with the Latina was more or less a movie script "soulmate" situation. She just wasn't available emotionally or practically.
And this woman did the same thing the Latina did right before she left, she wanted to try my gaming chair. I just no longer had any illusions that it signified anything more than curiousity about a piece of furniture that looked comfortable.
She already tried your joystick, why not let her sit in the chair!

Sure it costs money but if the goal is to fuck you might as well pick a 20-something hot blonde gourmet course instead of a lazy 39 y/o single mom that lied about a thing or 3 in the chat and used photo trickery to make her A-cup seem bigger. Plus it's less a roll of the dice that the girl you're seeing is into the same things you are.
My innocent American mind always finds the lax attitude towards escorts in Europe and elsewhere incredibly difficult to comprehend.
Anyway, I’m gonna stop by the Walmart where they have a buy-2-get-1 sale on full auto shotguns.

Anyway the Snowsky Echo arrived a week back but I had a shitty cold so I didn't bother to try it out until yesterday. First impressions are it's tiny which is good. Navigating menus can be a faff but not so bad once I got the hang of it. It has 8gb memory built in. Most of my music is in mp3 so that's plenty. It can be expanded with a memory card if I need to. I'm not going to load the thing up with hundreds of albums so it should be fine even with a little 16gb card. Sound wise it's definitely better than my phone. It has a very bright sound. Although I've had to go into the menu and change the EQ on different albums. I got it for £40 from AliExpress. It's deffo worth that. The new Geese record sounds amazing on it. I reckon I'll upgrade to a Hibby R4 when I've got some spare cash but this will do fine until then.
Legit, right?

Went to the bar last night.
They're getting a new chef, former coke addict used to work the beach bars. Great guy.
Also met a 65 year old with his wife who is the neighbour of our King. He sure had stories to tell.
A client of mine was also there, he's busy moving. My boss fucked up the last thing we did for him but with me it's all good.
Had an IPA and 2 special beers. That was supposed to be it. But the 65 year old bought me and the chef 3 more rounds.
Just around closing a girl came to pay her bill and return a tequilla she didn't drink.
Once the salt came into view it was muscle memory and the tequilla was gone.
Hangover wasn't so bad either.
What is bad is EVERYONE IS DRIVING SO FUCKING SLOW MOVE FUCKING MOVE YOU FUCKS
They think driving slow saves money because gas prices are A+++++++++. Currently $10 a gallon.
But Nintex driving slow does save gas. NO it fucking doesn't when it's start stop start stop start stop like a chugging Xbox 360 disk drive with aids.
Then it fucking doesn't.
Eating borscht at a Russian restaurant. I’m the only one in here. The waitress walked over and chastised me for eating with a regular spoon instead of a soup spoon. Why would you offer both if you’re only selling borscht. I’m gonna pay with coins.

Had food poisoning, most likely some fish that wasn't thoroughly washed before cooking.
My survival just shows how important it is to organize to end colonialism versus trying to take out the oppressors one by one. Also how resilient white supremacy is that it's developed methods like vomiting and fever to thwart resistance against it. And lastly how fragile life is that we have to continue to kill billions every single day in the class struggle, animals, plants, viruses, bacteria, etc. rather than simply end capitalism.
Sitting twiddling my thumbs in the office all day because those useless cunts at JAMF cannot handle images that log into two different sso endpoints.

At the very least into summer 2027 because the hosting is already paid for through then. After that depends on when the bank is notified and closes the account connected to it so it couldn't autorenew.
Although as the date was approaching I was thinking about checking when they have sales to see if I could extend the hosting for cheaper than the auto price.
benji must name a successor in case the enemy takes him out

Today I turned 37.
Mixed feelings. After 11 years I've send word out this weekend that my father is no longer capable of taking care of my mother and I'm not going to replace him.
He told the consultant last thursday my mother got sick 5 years ago and well, that was that.
He looks after my mother on paper but I've been looking after them both unofficially.
After countless suicide attempts, 3 battles with cancer between them, heart failure, asbestos lungs and diabetes we've reached the final chapter. His body is giving up before his mind though. The local government tried to delay taking responsibility as much as possible but I cornered them with this development and a witness and they gave up within 48 hours.
Part of me thinks I won the war another part of me knows I lost.
Our rando team came second in the international women's day charity footy at work. We got to the final and got absolutely spanked and ive got a bloody knee and everyone at work heard me shout cunts at the top of my voice about fifty times.
Love it.
I've done corporate games stuff a few times. Football, volleyball and dragon boat racing. Was funny watching everyone in a different environment. I may have allowed my competitive nature to peek through a few times.
I don't think I've been in a corporate sporting event since 2007 or so. It is fun to see co-workers in a different context, for certain.
In Japan, there's also the end-of-year office cleaning, where everyone cooperates to get the office spic-and-span for the coming year. There's a clear goal, everyone participates, no-one slacks, and it has a result that benefits everyone. Probably my favorite day of each year at that job.
I just now realized that it wasn't a practice at the later, larger Japanese publisher/developer. It's likely there were too many prima donna types there to go for all-hands.

Counterpoint. Couple years back I had cheapo conveyor belt sushi and felt the devil’s work about to be unleashed in my pants. This was an area of Tokyo without fancy hotels, department stores, and the gift of capitalism. I ended up at some grody batting cages with squat toilets. Getting atg and feeling enough propellant force to shoot you back to standing can only leave one thinking “Bless western culture”.

Hiby R1 has a slight discount and I'm still going back and forth on what to get. What I keep reading and don’t really understand is something about the Bluetooth having limited codecs in lower quality. On top of drastically reducing battery life. So the move is only wired with these cheap++ mp3 players.
tl;dr I ordered the $25 Ruizu clip clone.

I couldn't open my own fucking shitty tropicana orange juice bottle that I myself screwed shut
it's just a damn plastic cap, something happened in that fridge, something with pressure and physics that hermetically sealed the bottle
I had to use a flathead screwdriver to pry under the cap and heard the hiss of air and then it opened right up
I just wanted some citrus

Update: the $25 Ruizu clip clone seems a bit shit.
Great first impressions. Gibberish English on packaging and manual. Plug into a usb c charger that has thus far worked with everything. Didn’t work. The manual specifies you need a bad quality usb charger with usb a to usb c only. Somehow my Sansa clip from 15 years ago can charge with a 50 cent usc c to mini usb (not even micro) dongle. It arrived dead so I’ll see what’s up tomorrow.
An interesting choice. It has a physical sliding on/off switch. Yet the manual says you can turn it off/on by holding the play button for 3 seconds. It’s a feature to have multiple ways to turn it on or off.
