You think Jason Schreier just lied when he said the story isn't ready yet and that more is coming soon?
Do I believe that someone who obfuscated the sexual assault of women at one of gaming's largest companies that, had that information been released and not withheld to make profit on a book, could've potentially saved another woman's life, be exaggerating or blowing things out of proportion in order to stir up engagement? Yes, absolutely. What a silly question. I said I'm excited to read the report.

In a nearly 20-minute segment titled "Follow the MONEY," Rachel Maddow mentioned Israel—which has publicly called for U.S.-led regime change in Iran—only twice.

In that portion of the segment, she states: "I mean, there's a lot of attention on Israel and indeed Israel and the United States have worked together in the bombing campaign, not only the one that started today, but the campaign against Iran in June. But it is the Gulf Arab states who are arrayed against Iran, who want Iran removed as their regional rival.

It is those countries that have been assiduously buying up members of the Trump family and the Trump administration with just astonishing amounts of cash in recent years, and particularly in recent months.

And now for that low, low price, they appear to have rented the services of the United States military to start a war that they want, but that the American people do not." VIDEO: A clip from her MSNOW analysis

Because is Israel the one that is destabilizing the region and Muslim Solidarity should mean something (even if they openly shit on the religious sect that they dislike).

Era posted a news article essentially saying the same but because it was just Saudi Arabia they could just argue “rich fuckers trying to control the region”. relatable and grounded in the real world while keeping some of the details which make her so iconic

They really cannot fathom that maybe Iran was also in the propaganda game given how much they influenced terrorist groups and militias in the region.

The possibility that the Gulf states prefer tolerating Zionism over a militant Islamist Theocracy, that actively made things worse for everyone living in the region, is inconceivable for ERA.

Surah Al-An’am (6:159)
Indeed, you ˹O Prophet˺ are not responsible whatsoever for those who have divided their faith and split into sects. Their judgment rests only with Allah. And He will inform them of what they used to do.

May those who wrongfully believe in the line of Ali succession return to the true fold of Sunni Islam.

I am of the personal opinion that the foreign smoke that has surrounded him for a long time is incredibly suspicious.

That two of the three major 2016 Presidential candidates had ties to the USSR dating back the 80's, and that they both had a shared enemy in Hilary Clinton.

I'm not one of those people that thinks she was owed the Presidency; that she'd "earned the job".

But I do believe that there was a very deliberate, large scale foreign government campaign to 1) deny Clinton in that specific election and 2) drive the hyperpolarization of US politics into overdrive. And that Sanders himself played a role in all of that, witting or unwitting, and continues to do so even today with regard to the latter.

That taken from a high level, a lot of his influence in the last decade+ can almost be seen to serve fascist interest more than democratic ones. How much the scales were tipped in '16 were especially relevant in terms of the impact of fascist creep.

TL;DR: I think he's either a useful idiot or directly compromised for Russia, and that he's one of their political tools on the US political "left".

That both him and Donald Trump had suspicious associations with the USSR dating back to the 1980's, that both of them have hovered around US culture for decades but had their most significant political elevation at the exact same time, and that all this was happening as Russia/Putin was beginning the process of their 21st century fascist imperial conquest starting with Georgia in 2008, then Crimea, and now to Ukraine today.

That Hilary Clinton is one of the few long term experienced US politicians who could correctly and clear-headedly assess and confront all of this stuff, and is a big part as to why so much effort was taken to deny her ascension.

Also, I'm not sure the phrase "political agitator" means what you think it means. It is not an inherently bad thing and is often about shaking up the status quo to raise awareness for your cause.
Oh I'm aware. I'm saying that he's an agitator to disrupt the "status quo" of American Democracy on the behalf of a global fascist movement.

I understand that you and the vast majority of people aren't going to agree with this. That you'll handwave it as a hoax and conspiratorial thinking. But I don't really find it unbelievable at all, and him platforming dudes just like this only serves to reinforce my opinion of this. That he's here to erode the political center, just like how the middle class has been eroded economically too.

There's been a number of things over the years that have added to this too, but I haven't kept tabs because frankly, Bernie Sanders isn't worth thinking about an ounce in the scheme. There are more serious, pressing political problems facing us than what Bernie's doing, saying, thinking, endorsing.

This isn't a thread about Bernie Sanders anyway, it's about how the Democrats are about to run a dude for a Senate seat who knowingly wore a notorious Nazi icon for many years.

I'm not really interested in discussing Bernie Sanders or arguing with people who are ardent defenders of his honor.

Roytheone wrote:To steer it a bit from a derail back to the topic of this thread: this situation is an example that you can't do diplomacy without having military might to back it up. Deals made can and will be broken if the other side thinks they can get away with it. Or they will never even be made at all if one side is powerful enough they can just bully the other side with unrealistic demands. We see this happening right now with Iran.

So any investment into the military of the EU is also an investment in diplomacy to be able to deal with Russia. The one is dependant on the other. You can't trust pinky swear promises. Iran couldn't from the US and the EU can't from Russia.

Now what I do agree with is that we should try and put as many of those investments towards being more independent from the US and build up our own weapon manufacturing capabilities. But that takes time.
I don't really agree that the cases are similar.

I do agree that Europe should be more independent from the USA, and all this about building our own "defensive capabilities" (we should also be more concrete about what this refers to) sounds great on paper. But in practice what is actually happening is that the military industry that the EU is propping up with the pretext of the Ukraine war is directly benefiting American and Israeli weapon businesses and indirectly sustaining the current Palestinian genocide. On the other hand, these same weapon businesses and corporations we rely on are actively fostering fascist movements and groups which oftentimes have links with the military industrial complex. And, importantly, this is already happening inside Ukraine:
