Having a really good time with Battlefield 6 better than other Battlefield since 4 probably.
I'm now playing with a supressed SMG. Works pretty well. Overall many new players don't use spotting etc. well so it's pretty easy overall.
Truly lost in the wilderness after doing literally everything that can be done in Death Stranding 2. Like a sick fuck, my instinct is to immediately boot up MGS V and do everything in that game (despite the fact that I already clocked 300+ hours in it when it came out, and just spent nearly as much time in DS2).
I am resisting my insane urges by forcing myself to play frivolous shit like To a T. Which ain't too bad, as far as these things go.

Spoiler: but I can still hear Afghanistan calling me... (click to show)(click to hide)
In my effort to not play MGSV, I ended up picking up Trepang².
It was a kind of random choice...I don't really fuck with FPS games like that. I've never played FEAR, which is it--I am told--significantly inspired by.
It got on my radar semi-randomly as a "low profile game with small but passionate fanbase" which is catnip for me. And I'm happy to report it is a lot of fun. Recommended highly to fans of rip-and-tear style action games. Double recommended to people who hate watching cutscenes.
Really curious to see what this team comes up with next.
I'm playing the Robocop game. It's cool being Robocop. Got it for $5.

I'm playing through Ninja Gaiden Black for the original Xbox for the first time, this is a GREAT game. Having only experienced the PS2 Devil May Crys and God of Wars prior to this, I can confidently say Ninja Gaiden clears them both as a combat action game. You can really tell this game's combat was designed by fighting game devs, every enemy encounter requires your full attention.
About 25 of those kills were with a tank I had 75% of the match on the front line.
The trick is to mow down the infantry with the machine gun and switch quickly between that and the main gun.
At some point the whole strategy of the enemy team was to destroy my tank but after downing 2 choppers and 1 jet they gave up.
The #PANZERDIVISION is back
Season 1 battle pass is pretty legit got Battlefield Pro to fund Jareds new swimming pool.
I remember when folks used to say at 30 I can't keep up with these games. Nintex still rocking #1 positions on Battlefield 6 at 36
I'm playing MGSV now.
(well, just Ground Zeroes...but my fate is clearly sealed)
Marvel Cosmic Invasion.
It’s fine? Sprite work and fan service are there. Lots from MvC2 and MvC3. Many characters. She-Hulk is good, actually.
Streets of Rage 4 was so incredibly good it dulls every other modern beat em up.
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.
Only finished Sands of Time back in the day. Game is flawed but I'm willing to overlook it cause there's no patronizing modern game design. No yellow paint to be seen. I'm allowed to fail. I'm having fun.
Only had to go back in time like 20 years.
Guess I'll play through Two Thrones after this.

Is the edginess as bad as its reputation says or is it quite tame in comparison to the Forspokens of the 2020s?

The loading screen is a cult symbol that fills up with blood and the music is middle eastern flavoured groove metal.
It's the exact kinda shit I like. One of the first cutscenes has the goth babe wagging her big ass at the screen.
I miss edginess.
It was a great era. I’ve recently hooked up my old PS2 (along with DC, GC and Mister) to a small CRT in my office and it’s

The contrast between the credits song of Sands of Time and Warrior Within is great.
Sands of Time
Warrior Within
Sands of Time is the better game, but Warrior Within has better combat.

We can play Cho Aniki
Helldivers 2.
Really loving that gameplay loop.
Almost done with Romeo is a Dead Man.
It's a continuation of the style they landed on with Travis Strikes Again and No More Heroes 3. Simple combat that's supplemented by skills on a cooldown timer. Need to finish it to see where it lands for me.
Cast n Chill is fantastic. Exactly what the name implies. Chill fishing game.

Fairly deep into nioh 3 but I know i've already seen pretty much all there is to see by the third map
Romeo is a Dead Man was one of the better Grashopper Manufacture games. Some great songs on the soundtrack.
Wish it had a few more levels/bosses.
I just started Berserk and the Band of the Hawk.
First off, how did they pick this name? "Berserk and"... who the hell is Berserk?
At first I was kind of feeling it, but it's kind of half-assed for a musou game. They obviously had some challenges: the core of Berserk is Guts--specfically Guts--killing tons of things all of the time. And you can tell they were really challenged at finding places to appropriately unlock other characters. I'm something like 15 chapters in and I still only have 5 playable characters (and mostly the game forces me to use Guts anyway).
This game would be a lot better if they just allowed character unlocks to be completely independent of story progression. Give them to me all at once, or let me unlock them with points or something?
OR
If they just went all in and made Guts himself super detailed and fun to play in comparison to a typical musou character, that would've been cool also.
As it is, Guts just plays like any old big-n-slow musou dude. And the game forces you to play as only him most of the time.
It's also weirdly bloated. I'm still in the Golden Age, and the game just gave me 3 concurrent missions of Guts fighting nameless thieves after he leaves the Hawks. What kind of band of thieves tries to rob one guy and fails with 3000+ casualties, and then tries again? What kind of band of thieves even has 3000+ bodies to offer??? But more than anything, we didn't need these missions at all. They could've gone right from Guts leaves the Band -> Guts rescues Griffith and I doubt anyone would care at all.
Just a weird experience all around.
If you haven’t, play the PS2 game. There’s a fan translation floating around.

Definitely the closest they ever came to getting the vibe right. Certainly better than that shitty Dreamcast game.

Oh wow, the hiphop song in Romeo is a Dead Man is by the guys that made this.
Edit: The song itself is kind of a spoiler for one of the best bits in the game.

Wish it had a few more levels/bosses. I've been a Suda hater for a long time...I just don't think anything he has made since Killer7 has been worth a damn.
But I keep coming back to listen to this song, so I think I'll cave and check out Romeo next. It's been a long time, maybe he'll convince me.
I just started the new Resident Evil, and for an FBI agent, this Grace lady seems like kind of a goofy moron.

I think Capcom intends for all the new RE games to have normal people as the main protags while the super soldier badasses play supporting roles.

I think it would have been better to have begun the game with Grace conducting a personal investigation - maybe she overhears something about the hotel while at work, and then misuses her credentials to get on-site. Once you're in the hotel, her working for the FBI becomes irrelevant anyway.
The problem is with the idea that an FBI analyst with severe social anxiety is sent out into the field without any backup, on a case that is insanely personal to her. They at least could have made the cop from that start a field agent who accompanies her.
In the end I quite liked her as a character, though I liked her a lot more when she was commenting to herself / reacting to events during gameplay. I found her constant stuttering whenever interacting with anyone else pretty grating, especially as I felt it was played more as a lovable quirk than an actual problem (see also: knock books off her desk at the start, what a klutz!) (see also also: ree autists being all "Oh my god she's just like me!")
Grace's stutter was so cartoonish I thought she was gonna say "JINKIES!" at some point lmao
Ethan Winters comes across as a normal dude for the most part but Grace Ashcroft is straight-up the Velma Dinkley of Resident Evil.
Poor writing in a (Japanese) video game?
