I hear you OP (and everyone else in this thread). Went through an incredibly lonely and frustrating 4 year gap in my prime, (early to mid 20s) after my first serious girlfriend broke up with me before I met my spouse. Well 17 years after starting to date and 14 years of marriage, it's falling apart. We are trying to make it work, but to me it's clearly not going to because we want such different things out of life for our next chapter and we keep driving each other crazy unintentionally and there's just so much resentment built up for both of us. The feeling of loneliness while being in a relationship is terrible, you can either lose it or you just go on auto pilot to numb the pain of having someone with you, but feeling like they don't understand me so I'm on my own here. My lesson from this is that while opposites attracting can be incredibly exciting and fun, it can also wear you down over the years if you're not vulnerable and honest about your needs and what does/doesn't work for you.

The thought of starting over at 42 is scary, but also exciting for me. I'm just now realizing who I am, what I want to change and foster within myself, and what I truly need from a partner. My only advice is that therapy is damn helpful, find a good therapist and stick with them. I've worked through so much shit I didn't consciously know was actually beneath the surface. The revelations I've had are truly mind blowing and I would have never realized it without a great therapist. Good luck OP and everyone else in this thread who's lonely, it's not forever. This is your moment or phase of life, not the rest of your life. If you want companionship and a partner, don't give up. You deserve to be happy.

I'm sick. Again.

My wife caught a virus from her kids and knew I would get it. I felt ok going into work this morning, but started feeling bloated, nauseous and having gas pains. Around 1, I finally said uncle and told my co worker I had to leave for the day. I vomited in a Dick's Sporting Goods parking lot less than 5 minutes later. This has been the third time I've been sick with a stomach bug since around Christmas. It's awful.

Furries aren't necessarily animal cosplayers. They're self-ascribed members of the Furry Community. There is no qualifier for a Furry (you don't need a fursuit) beyond self-identification. Therians are people who believe on some spiritual level that they have an animal spirit inside them, are guided by an animal, are part animal, etc.. It's an emotional/spiritual thing.

The former to me is a hobby and one I partake in; the latter has always seemed like it's tackily jacking Indigenous cultures, and as a result I don't really fuck with it.
