Yeah that headline is... wow.
For full context, the original protest definitely was for sure some sorta gay anti-islam type thing, but the bomb was 100% thrown by counterprotesters (read: leftists) at the original right-wing demonstrators.
The headlines have generally been super timid

A reasonable person could interpret that first headline as "someone at an anti-islam protest threw a bomb at the mayor's house--possibly targeting mamdani himself". If you read the comments on imgur (not that it's exactly a bastion of deep thinkers), it's clear that many people interpreted it exactly that way.
I'm less worried about "smoking jars of metal'--despite being a retarded choice of words?--but the subheading still implies that the right-wing protestors were somehow the instigators or at fault.
The problem here isn't that right-wingers are innocent angels being victimized by reverse racism, but there is an an issue with every act of political violence being rhetorically judo'd into somehow being the fault of the right.
Condolences to the women on X (Twitter). Jeff Marvel now have a whole month dedicated to giving them his full attention, and we all know he's going to lash out.
Look I wasn't a big fan of the Supreme Leader of Iran the Ayatollah Khamenei but there is an an issue with every act of political violence being rhetorically judo'd into somehow being the fault of the right.

Looking back, it's kind of nuts how Resident Evil 5 treated Jill
Chumunga64 wrote:Jill was one of the faces of Resident Evil. She was one half of the main duo and got a solo game before Chris and Resident Evil 5 reduced her to a brainwashed damsel wearing a tight catsuit for Chris to save.
Also she's blonde for some reason
doubly funny since Code Veronica ends with Steven's body being retrieved by Wesker setting up something with Steve and Jill's last appearance in 3 ends with her looking for Chris while hanging out with Carlos. (side note it's so funny how RE2 and 3 sets up a mystery about Chris' whereabouts and Code Veronica is just "btw Chris is fine") so to someone who actually played the game, Jill being missing just makes no sense
Resident Evil 5 really damaged Jill's character so bad and I hope that a remake just cuts out the entire Jill subplot. There's like so much of the game that I just don't think is salvagable that you might as well change 90% of the game

The collapse, notably, came quickly. From March through December, U.S. spirits exports to Canada dropped from $203 million in 2024 to just $60 million in 2025, a loss of roughly $143 million, Fox News reported.
Trump has repeatedly used tariffs as economic leverage, arguing that the strategy helps strengthen American manufacturing and correct trade imbalances. But the spirits industry says retaliatory actions by Canada have wiped out one of its most lucrative export markets.
“Our industry thrives in a zero-for-zero tariff environment,” says Chris Swonger, president and CEO of DISCUS. While Swonger said distillers recognize the administration’s efforts to address trade imbalances, he added that the provincial bans have been especially damaging. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/us-whiskey-exports-canada-collapse-nearly-70-after-trump-tariff-fight wrote:In 2025, Canada slid from the second-largest destination for American spirits to sixth, as exports declined two-thirds to $89 million, according to data compiled by the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS).
Before the dispute, the market had generated roughly $250 million annually for American distillers.
The drop was immediate and relentless. From March through December, exports fell from $203 million in 2024 to just $60 million in 2025 — a roughly $143 million wipeout.
Despite the lifting of some tariffs, most Canadian provinces continue to shut American alcohol out of retail stores.
"Our industry thrives in a zero-for-zero tariff environment," Chris Swonger, DISCUS president and CEO, told Fox News Digital.
The export downturn comes as Trump continues to use tariffs as economic leverage — a strategy his administration argues is designed to strengthen U.S. manufacturing and reduce trade imbalances.
While Swonger said the industry recognizes the Trump administration’s efforts to reduce trade imbalances, he noted that the loss of Canadian shelf space has had a significant impact on exports.
