In a prior tweet he said he was 12 in 1995, so he was already about 14 by the time he originally played Turok on the N64. He has a tweet a few days ago about being 42 despite how "young" he looks.

In the tweet you posted he said he "came out" as a woman in 2011. But it's only been a decade since he hasn't seen his kid, who is now 20. So there was about four years where they tried to make it work, while the daughter was entering her tween years...

It used to be when dads didn't want to be part of the family anymore they would go out to buy a pack of cigarettes and not come back. At least with that as a kid you can imagine your dad is a super secret agent or something cool as to why they left.
